RACE TWO VALKYRIE HANOVER (2) will be stepping out at this venue for the first time and comes into the contest after finishing down the line behind FEELING THE POWER last time out. Defeating subsequent winner JOHNROD four starts back, if she can show the hustle to cross, this would be within reach. ELLE JAY (1) will be first up since November off the back of one preparatory trial back on Feb 15. Folding up last start when setting the speed and sent out as the favourite, she comes up with the ideal gate fresh on a track where she has a 50%-win strike rate in 12 appearances. FORGIVE ME (8) made a costly error last start that saw her banished to the trials. Earning the return, she can be in behind the action and ready to make a closing swoop to feature. BE ON THE SLY (6) will be requiring a slice of luck from this alley as he looks set to be hemmed away. Closing out in nice order last start from well back, he will be searching for the openings.
SELECTIONS: VALKYRIE HANOVER (2), ELLE JAY (1), FORGIVE ME (8), BE ON THE SLY (6) SUGGESTED BET: VALKYRIE HANOVER (2) to win
RACE THREE JOY MAKER (5) is in search of a hat-trick of victories after Redcliffe wins at her past two attempts. Finding space to get in behind the leader last start, she then finished best off the back of a similar pattern the start prior. Despite the wide gate, she has the confidence up to chase the threepeat. CIRCLE LINE (7) showed some early hustle last start before releasing and then holding on for the bronze when 4m from the winner. Prior to that he was running some handy races without much reward and despite the second line, he can look to throw down a challenge in this line up. DUKE (3) has placed in 3 of 5 here at Marburg and can look to be settled close to the action from this alley. Midfield at his past two outings at Redcliffe, he has podium claims. JUST ONE GOOD ONE (4) has faced second line draws at his past two outings that has seen him deep in the pack when trying to make a rally. Settling closer he can be in the mix. SELECTIONS: JOY MAKER (5), CIRCLE LINE (7), DUKE (3), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR RANCHO MAN (3) could not get across last start over the AP mile from gate 3 and settled in the 1x1 trail but lost all his momentum and was carted back through the pack by a tiring runner. Buried on the pegs the start prior, he can fire some early bullets and finds conditions to capitalise. BATTLECRAFT (5) was soon buried on the run from inside the second line last start when searching for gaps to get within a neck of the in-form STUDLEIGH WILL. Runner-up in three of his previous four starts, he can get forward to throw down the challenge to them. NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (4) has yet to cash-in from a dozen outings here at Marburg but has managed 7 minors. Just a neck from the winner last start, she will be right in the fight. IMA BEACH BABE (8) found the pocket trail last start over the Redcliffe sprint and was best of the chasers behind the easy winner BONNIES A ROCKIN. A two-time winner here, she can feature. SELECTIONS: RANCHO MAN (3), BATTLECRAFT (5), NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (4), IMA BEACH BABE (8) SUGGESTED BET: RANCHO MAN (3),
RACE FIVE DOLLARBILL (4) was rewarded for his consistency last start after finishing as the runner-up in three of his previous four. Tackling the Redcliffe 2040m he was sent to the front and controlling the tempo pulled clear to a big 13m margin. A six-time winner, he can press on and look to dig in for the fight. MAGICOL IDEAL (2) has a smart record on this track with a pair of wins and a pair of 2nds in his five appearances. Asked to hang tough when parked last start over the AP mile, he was grafting it out when just 4m from MAYWYN TROUBADOR. From the gate he will be looking to dictate and hang on. MISS MIA (8) not much has gone her way since claiming a passing lane win at headquarters five runs back. Reliant on some tempo that looks set to eventuate, she can be making a closing play. ARNOLD STREET (6) tried to take them all the way last start and was gripping on in the stretch when collared late against some experienced opponents. He will be searching for openings here. SELECTIONS: DOLLARBILL (4), MAGICOL IDEAL (2), MISS MIA (8), ARNOLD STREET (6) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-4-6-8
RACE SIX This is a heat of a Series offering a future $20k final at The Creek and draws together a strong field with good speed off the front line. SLIP THE HUNDY (9) has the outside second line to negotiate but his past two victories over the AP mile have been sharp. Large in victory when first over last time out in a 1.52.6 mile, he can overcome the gate impediment. TEARAWAY DIAMOND (2) has been back to the track on two occasions since resuming from a spell and although the figure form is not pretty, the efforts have had merit from wide gates in slick time. A three-time winner here at Marburg, he can put the heat on them early and look to fight them off. ITS MR CLOONEY (3) has been building towards a win, showing good improvement at each outing since resuming from a spell. Beaten by the gate last start when closing out in nice style, he is in the mix. MOLLIESMARYELLE (7) cashed in last start in a mare’s qualifier when finishing over the top of them to claim a smart win. There looks tempo aplenty for her to be charging late in this. SELECTIONS: SLIP THE HUNDY (9), TEARAWAY DIAMOND (2), ITS MR CLOONEY (3), MOLLIESMARYELLE (7) SUGGESTED BET: SLIP THE HUNDY (9) to win
