RACE TWO A front line tape will be a big help for MAJESTIC HARRY (2) who has faced a handicap in recent starts and struck traffic. Deep in the pack and trying to make a closing raid when 4th to REGAL APPOINTMENT last start, his win here three back was solid, and he gets the chance to cash in here. RILEY MOMENT (4) was slowly into stride here last week and then forced to face the breeze was trying to fight on in the closing stages. Charging late for 2nd to REGAL APPOINTMENT in the McNeil Final two starts back, she can be close enough to throw down the challenge. HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (8) was buried in the run last start and was making some nice metres over the closing stages to grab the bronze when 7m in arrears. More miss than hit of late, she can build off the last start. FATHER CHRISTMAS (5) was unable to get into the contest here last week as SOBOMBA took hold of it front and had to settle for a midfield return. Too far back in the McNeil Final, he can feature here.
SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC HARRY (2), RILEY MOMENT (4), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (8), FATHER CHRISTMAS (5) SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC HARRY (2) to win
RACE THREE Six two-year-old’s will have their first race appearance here where WISPER A SECRET (5) has a tricky gate but has shown some nice ability at the trials. A Huntsville gelding trained by Chantal Turpin, his most recent trial was enough to suggest he can make a first up play. CRADOCK (2) was a scratching here two weeks ago when initially slated for his debut, with the Sportswriter gelding looking better placed from gate two this time around. A smart trial effort to qualify for his race ticket, he looks to have some ability. FOR REAL LIFE (4) qualified at Marburg with a smart trial where he did everything right and was asked to work hard through the middle stages. He stays under a big watch. HOLD ONTO YA BLING (9) was game in defeat on debut when sent forward from gate 6 to face the breeze where he dug in for the fight behind FRANKIE FEROCIOUS. The experience of that is a big plus. SELECTIONS: WISPER A SECRET (5), CRADOCK (2), FOR REAL LIFE (4), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (9) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR He will be requiring a nice slice of luck in transit, but in an open contest, GLITTER STRIP (8) might just be able to pinch the prize. Not suited last start when wide on the run home, his effort the start prior when sitting parked at the 2138m was a nice effort. If the gaps arrive, he can be attacking late. OFFICE BAD BOY (4) was able to get forward early to find the pocket trail last start and with the good trip behind the speed was able to make the closing shot a winning one. This is not really that harder and from a similar gate, positioning cheaply will be his key to unlocking the repeat. LOOKS JUST RIGHT (2) led them up at Redcliffe last start from gate 3 and trying to fight them off was collared by HIGH ON MONTANA. Gunned down over the 2138m two back, he will be fighting. RANCHO MAN (1) took the trail on LOOKS JUST RIGHT here last start and then using the passing lane was a half-neck away. With a similar map unfolding here, he will again take the closing shot. SELECTIONS: GLITTER STRIP (8), OFFICE BAD BOY (4), LOOKS JUST RIGHT (2), RANCHO MAN (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE Sticking to the inside last start after starting from inside the second line, MAGICAL MAYA (1) was making good metres in the closing stages to be within 2m of the winner. Her only attempt at this trip was from gate 6 to find the running line and with the right trip here, she can arrive. ALTA REVELRY (7) steps out to the 2138m for just the second time after his first attempt at the trip didn’t reveal much after striking trouble that ended his chances. SPEAK THE TRUTH grabbed him last start when looking to take them all the way and he has challenging chances despite the gate. MAYWYN TROUBADOR (2) has good speed off the arm and from this gate will be firing the early bullets looking to fight them off. A winless record at the middle trip is the concern. UNCLE LUKEY (8) arrives for another Winter campaign where his previous numbers here at headquarters show three minors in ten appearances. From the gate he will be probing. SELECTIONS: MAGICAL MAYA (1), ALTA REVELRY (7), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (2), UNCLE LUKEY (8) SUGGESTED BET: MAGICAL MAYA (1) to win
RACE SIX After a pair of big wins at The Creek in his past two starts, WATTS UP SUNSHINE (9) finds conditions to cash in once again. Delivering a crushing first over victory at the 2138m two starts back, he was then in cruise control last start in front at the mile. The gate should be no impediment to the threepeat. CALL ME KEITH (4) was sent out as the favourite last start from gate 1 and with the good trip in behind the speed at Redcliffe, owned superior closing power to claim victory, defeating WATTS UP SUNSHINE. Kept fresh since that victory, he has the early hustle to find a prominent position. ARTHUR LOWE (2) was beaten by gate 7 last start when settling in the running line but could not get warm in the closing stages. Better suited in front, he can fire some early bullets. MUCH BETTOR (3) is a last start Redcliffe winner after pressing on from the three-hole to take control and hold on for a 3m victory. He can get forward to feature again here. SELECTIONS: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (9), CALL ME KEITH (4), ARTHUR LOWE (2), MUCH BETTOR (3) SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 9 / 2-3-4 / 2-3-4-5
RACE SEVEN With some mixed numbers against his name in recent outings, CANT BLUFF YOU (6) probably has not got the results worthy of his effort. Asked to do all the heavy lifting in the Goldstrike Final from the 20m tape, his heat run in that Series was super. Mobile conditions can see him bounce back. FRANCO NATHAN (5) eased from gate 5 here two starts back and from deep in the pack owned the best closing speed to swoop home over the top to claim the prize. Taken back to the poles last starts before charging home late for the bronze, if he can settle closer, he can make a closing challenge. ROCKNROLL TIMES (3) had the speed to lead last week and from the front was able to pinch a 62.6 opening half. Collared in the closing strides off his back, he can be thereabouts once again. BAKER CREEK (8) was a strong winner here three starts back when sent forward before being snagged back at her next run. Too far back against the tempo last start, she will be probing for gaps. SELECTIONS: CANT BLUFF YOU (6), FRANCO NATHAN (5), ROCKNROLL TIMES (3), BAKER CREEK (8) SUGGESTED BET: CANT BLUFF YOU (6) to win
RACE EIGHT Some nice form on offer to close the card where ITZ CHEROKEE JACK (2) might have found his opportunity to capitalise. In three runs back from a spell, nothing has been in hi favour, having his night ended with a wheel issue last start which followed a tough run from gate 6. Still with a bit to be ironed out, the improved gate is a big plus. SAGINAW (11) takes his second look at The Creek after his only attempt here was when going under at $1.04. Claiming his next three in succession on The Triangle, he was back to making error last start that ended his chances. He is the testing material; his manners pose the biggest query. SO AM I (1) heads back to town after sweeping the Marburg standing start Goldstrike Series. Posting a 10m win in the final, he has the gate to transfer the form to the mobile start. REGULUS (8) was building towards another win after three successive placings and franked that assessment to finish best over the mile here last start. With the cosy trip, he can be probing. SELECTIONS: ITZ CHEROKEE JACK (2), SAGINAW (11), SO AM I (1), REGULUS (8) SUGGESTED BET:
