Racing Queensland advises that following a track inspection the Kilcoy Race Club race meeting programmed for Tuesday, July 12, has been abandoned.
The track has been closely monitored over the past week in the hope that an improvement in the weather might potentially provide an opportunity for it to dry out in time for the race meeting to proceed.
Despite that, there are unfortunately still two areas of the racing surface - near the 500 metre point on the circuit - which have not dried sufficiently for Tuesday's race meeting to take place, with rider and equine safety being the absolute priority in the decision making process.
As a consequence of the abandonment, RQ will give close consideration to the potential for the programming of alternative racing opportunities within the region during the next 7-10 days.
