RACE ONE
Beaten by gate 7 last start when retreating to settle rearward, HY VOLTAGE (2) could not get into the contest as TIMS A TROOPER claimed a big win. Taking cover over the middle trip when 3m from CAPTAIN SHUFFLES two starts back, a return to the mile will see him take some stopping. HOLY CAMP DILLON (1) powered up in the middle stages of the 2138 here last week, finding the front and once in control pulled clear to claim a 4m victory. Collared in the closing strides by BUBBA SCRUB two starts back, either in front or in the trail, he can throw down the challenge. ROCK BOTTOM (9) scored in veterans’ company three runs back when forcing the issue from gate 7 to find the front and see it out with a 3m margin. 3rd to MIRACLE MOOSE last start, he is in the mix. OUR ACTION MAN (3) sat parked from gate 4 last start and despite the tough trip was able to pull away in the stretch for a smart win with an 8m margin. He will up near the action to feature again. SELECTIONS: HY VOLTAGE (2), HOLY CAMP DILLON (1), ROCK BOTTOM (9), OUR ACTION MAN (3) SUGGESTED BET: HY VOLTAGE (2) to win
RACE TWO Not much has been in the favour of JAMES CAGNEY (1) in his four starts here at The Creek, finishing in the money just once. That was two starts back when runner-up to DARK TERROR when just a neck in arrears. He finally secures the marble to take advantage and has the options to capitalise. ROCK SUPREME (3) is flying and lines up here after finishing in the money at his past ten in succession. Collared in the last stride of the 2138m trip last start by KASH US BACK, he ripped out a 54.7 last 800 in front two runs back for a slick win. From the gate he will throw it down hard. SIR SONNY MAGUIRE (8) was trying to get warm over the latter stages last week after facing the outside second line but could not get into the contest. Off a soft peg trip, he can fill a minor. PROMISING (4) eased to the inside from gate 10 last start to chase some luck that did not present. Strong to the line behind DFARK TERROR two starts back, he can be handy enough to join in. SELECTIONS: JAMES CAGNEY (1), ROCK SUPREME (3), SIR SONNY MAGUIRE (8), PROMISING (4) SUGGESTED BET: JAMES CAGNEY (1) to win
RACE THREE Unplaced in both Qld appearances to date, RIVEERED (2) has been coming from back in the pack on each occasion when trying to make ground. Sectionally sound in each of those battles, he lands closer to the poles here and finds a winnable qualifier to earn travelling money for connections. LAURIE DEE (1) was asked to sit parked on Tuesday and despite the tough trip was able to fight hard to the wire in holding 2nd behind PRESS STATEMENT in sharp time. 3rd to LUXURY LAD here two starts back, he comes up with the right gate to issue the challenge. REASON TO BE (9) secured the perfect trip in behind the speed at Redcliffe two runs back and when the gap presented, darted through to cash in. Not suited when sitting parked last start, he can chime in. BIDE OUR TIME (3) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and turning for home was out of bullets. Still whacking away to the wire, it followed a strong close out two runs back and he can feature again. SELECTIONS: RIVEERED (2), LAURIE DEE (1), REASON TO BE (9), BIDE OUR TIME (3) SUGGESTED BET: RIVEERED (2) to win
RACE FOUR
Claiming a mare’s qualifying pace here four starts back, TALENT TO SPARE (3) has put in three smart performances since the victory. Runner-up off the second line behind ALWAYSBME last week, she grafted out a starchy 3rd when parked outside ELOUISA DALE two back. She will set the target. BEACH VILLA (9) started from inside the second line last start and had to rev up to protect the trail where he then went within a head of victory as BUBBA SCRUB was able to graft out the win. Too strong in front two starts back, he has the class to throw it down to them despite the gate. SWAGGIE SHANNON (1) started from this same gate last start and was shuffled to three back at the mile when HOLY CAMP DILLON took over. A soft trip behind the speed can see him grab a minor. WHATA ROLLER (8) loves a peg trip and from this gate will be tucked away and awaiting the Kelato Passing lane. A winner three starts back along that piece of track, he will be probing here. SELECTIONS: TALENT TO SPARE (3), BEACH VILLA (9), SWAGGIE SHANNON (1), WHATA ROLLER (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-9
RACE FIVE He cops no favours from the outside paint, but the recent efforts of BIG SKEWY (7) might be enough for him to claim successive victories. Throwing down the power after sitting parked and taking control at the bell over the 2138 two runs back, he forced the issue last start. He can flex from the wide gate. ZOOM PARTY (5) is yet to miss a cheque since joining Ronnie Sallis with four wins and a pair of minors in six appearances. Grabbing the bronze behind BIG SKEWY last week, he rattled late off a strong middle half two runs back to score. Despite a potentially awkward gate, he can challenge. BOSCH (10) faces a stable switch after claiming a victory on the front end here last week when capitalising in front and taking a career PB. Back to the second line makes it a tougher ask. LUKE JOHN (9) settled in the 1x1 trail from this same gate two starts back and was best of the chasers behind the talented 3YO HOLD ONTO YA BLING. Chasing the speed, he can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: BIG SKEWY (7), ZOOM PARTY (5), BOSCH (10), LUKE JOHN (9) SUGGESTED BET: BIG SKEWY (7) to win
RACE SIX There could be a bit of early heat as they chase position in the early stages and YEP GOT CHOOKS (1) will likely be in the thick of it. Returning from a spell with a tidy effort off the second line behind SURF ACE, he was midfield to HOLY CAMP DILLON last time. He will be gripping on. CHAP DADDY (8) will be hoping to get to the passing lane with momentum. Game in defeat here last week after sitting parked outside HOLY CAMP DILLON, it followed a luckless effort when searching for space and finishing 1m from BUBBA SCRUB. If the gap arrives in time, he will be hard to hold out. ANNTONIA (6) is a classy mare with a brilliant record but lines up here first up since April 2022. The three-time G1 winner has had three trials to prepare for her return, with the gate not helping fresh. ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (4) has brilliant early hustle and might be enough to find the front. Holding the mapping keys to this contest, he is super consistent and wont be too far away. SELECTIONS: YEP GOT CHOOKS (1), CHAP DADDY (8), ANNTONIA (6), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN Starting from outside the second line last time out, HEAVENLY SIGN (6) settled at the rear and was strong to the line when just 3m from the winner SOVIET STUNNER. Asked to race tough first over outside ARMA RENEGADE the start prior, she can overcome the tough gate to capitalise. ALEXIA ROSE (8) lands the inside second line again after facing this same alley at her past two starts. Running some nice races without the luck in recent weeks, she has been sectionally strong but just needs a run of the green, and if she can get that here, can issue the challenge. MISS DAYTONA (5) sped across from this gate to lead two starts back and was in front deep into the stretch when nabbed right on the line by JILLIBY CHAMBERS. Limiting the mid-race toll will be key. PRINCESS LEIA (9) was snagged off the arm from gate 6 here last week before making some nice metres over the latter stages behind SOVIET STUNNER. With the right trail she can chime in. SELECTIONS: HEAVENLY SIGN (6), ALEXIA ROSE (8), MISS DAYTONA (5), PRINCESS LEIA (9) SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENLY SIGN (6) to win
RACE EIGHT This looks a wide-open mare’s contest where mapping and tempo will play a significantly more important factor in mining the winner. OUR MODERN MINNIE (5) has been through somewhat of a slump, but looks to have worked through the other side and closed out smartly last start from deep field behind COCORA. SKY BLU (7) would be a top hope if drawn anywhere else, but still is well up to wining this despite the outside paint. Copping the ODM embargo after her last start when making an error soon after the start, she was too slick for them two runs back and with the right trip can throw it down. REMY BROWN (8) settled in the running line last start and was sound to the line behind SOVIET STUNNER. Drawn off the second line at each of her past three starts, she will be probing again. JILLIBY CHAMBERS (9) was chasing a hat-trick last start when faced with gate 6 she was forced to cover plenty of track and finished rearward. Following though early can see her chime in here. SELECTIONS: OUR MODERN MINNIE (5), SKY BLU (7), REMY BROWN (8), JILLIBY CHAMBERS (9) SUGGESTED BET: OUR MODERN MINNIE (5) to win
RACE NINE Sent forward from this gate last start and forcing the issue to take control by the 1200, MAJOR ICON (7) then packed too much heat for his rivals to score effortlessly by 7m. Taking further experience from the run after a green performance first up in victory two runs back, the threepeat is on. NIKI BEACH (10) was sent around them in the early stages last start to sit parked and after the tough trip was midfield behind BORSELLINO. Just a head away from MAJOR ICON two starts back, he is yet to snare a decent gate in four Qld appearances, starting no closer than gate 7. He can be joining in. PEPPA BLISS (8) will need a slice of luck to see space but should appreciate this trip after facing gate 7 at her past two. Strong to the line behind BRONSKI DELIGHT two back, she will be probing. YANKEE C J (2) faced the outside second line last start and made some late metres for the bronze behind MAJOR ICON. With a better gate here, he can get closer this time around. SELECTIONS: MAJOR ICON (7), NIKI BEACH (10), PEPPA BLISS (8), YANKEE C J (2) SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR ICON (7) to win
