RACE ONE
This is a cracking race to start the first night of the Summer Harness Season and despite the wide gate, ALTA REVELRY (10) can look to repeat his last start effort when arriving from the second line. Descending on them and pulling clear to score, this race looks to have the tempo to chase a repeat. BIG SKEWY (6) held on for the bronze last start from gate 1 when trailing and finishing 13m from the smart win by CLASSIE WASHINGTON. A winner at his previous three in succession, he will be better suited here from the wider gate and can put the power on at some stage to throw it down. L L COOL J (1) sat three poles last start as TURN IT UP carved it in front and with the soft trip kept chasing to grab the bronze. With a similar trip, he can chase a similar result. CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (8) returns from a spell and will be first up since the triad Final when 8m from SPEAK THE TRUTH. He will need some factors in his favour from this alley to chime in. SELECTIONS: ALTA REVELRY (10), BIG SKEWY (6), L L COOL J (1), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (8) SUGGESTED BET: ALTA REVELRY (10) to win
RACE TWO The outside second line is no luxury in a capacity field of the middle trip, but SAINT CRUSADER (12) arrives for his first Qld appearance with placings in strong Menangle company at his past four in succession. 3rd to MY ULTIMATE RONNIE last start, he can defy the gate to capitalise in this line up. TIGER BY THE TAIL (2) was having his first start since crossing the Nullarbor in midweek company when faced with a wide gate. Asked to hang tough outside the leader, he faded over the closing stages with FRANKIE FEROCIOUS putting them away from the front. He can be sharper here. KADAR (3) joins the Jack Butler barn following a last start 3rd in this grade. Taking the trail from gate 1, he was 4m from the winner EURO BEAT. A Menangle winner three starts back, he is in the mix. ARGYLE (9) was a winner here four starts back when second up from a spell and has been runner-up in all three since. Beaten a head last start when collared on the wire, he can be thereabouts again. SELECTIONS: SAINT CRUSADER (12), TIGER BY THE TAIL (2), KADAR (3), ARGYLE (9) SUGGESTED BET: SAINT CRUSADER (12) to win
RACE THREE Missing most of the season TEDDY DISCO (6) makes a return deep into the year, looking to shake it up and finish his 4YO term in style. With three trials in readiness for his return, the last of those was a sharp piece of work, attacking the line in style. The gate stings but he can bring the moves fresh. POCKET THE CASH (2) was snagged out the back from a wide gate last start and form the rear was always facing a task against the tempo as CLASSIE WASHINGTON saw it out. Not asked for an early heat two back, he can look to take advantage of settling closer to the action. OBI ONE (1) is in nice touch at present and last start was midfield as SO SIRIUS claimed a strong victory. Making a late raid when just a head from victory the start prior, the gate is a huge asset. GOTTA GO MILKING (3) might just find himself in front in the early stages here and from there would be able to give plenty of cheek. Making late ground when 4m from LOUS DREAM last start, he is in the mix. SELECTIONS: TEDDY DISCO (6), POCKET THE CASH (2), OBI ONE (1), GOTTA GO MILKING (3) SUGGESTED BET: TEDDY DISCO (6) to win
RACE FOUR
Seeing them off with an electric closing 800 from the front at his first Qld appearance, MAJESTIC LAVROS (1) was able to claim a strong first up victory. With six weeks until his next outing, he just peaked in the closing stages to miss the money. He has the gate to burrow through, can he grip on? ADELLE (13) got it all wrong last start, making a critical error that put her out of business. A winner from the 30m handicap the start prior when powering up and putting them away and pulling clear to claim a 20m victory, she has the full field to get around here, but can bounce back with vengeance. MAJESTIC HARRY (9) was first up since the Winter and his 5th in the G1 Qld Trotters Cup when claiming a smart victory. With the added fitness and the right run in transit, he can feature again. SIR FAHRENHEIT (5) was out of the pack and chasing hard last start when grabbing the bronze behind MAJESTIC HARRY, beaten 4m. He faces a sticky gate but can be making a late raid. SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC LAVROS (1), ADELLE (13), MAJESTIC HARRY (9), SIR FAHRENHEIT (5) SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC LAVROS (1) win/place
RACE FIVE He may have missed the win in the Victoria Cup, but it was another huge performance from LEAP TO FAME (8) to still be just a head away from victory. Massive in defeat in The Eureka, he is back on his home deck where he has 17 wins and despite what could potentially be an awkward gate, should be too classy. FUTURE ASSURED (1) is the up and comer that lands the gate as he looks to make it four wins in succession. Forcing the issue and working to the front last start to claim a 4m margin in slick time, he broke 51 here three starts back wide off the track and gets the chance to step up in style. HOT AND TREACHEROUS (4) has seen plenty of the back of LEAP TO FAME this season, placing behind him in several features. Fresh up since his last start back on Oct 7, he might be the one to come calling for the front, will there be any answer? TURN IT UP (6) has the push button speed out of the machine to be in front soon after the start and from there holds his own destiny. Choosing to release or look to see it out, he will be in the fight. SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (8), FUTURE ASSURED (1), HOT AND TREACHEROUS (4), TURN IT UP (6) SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (8) to win
RACE SIX The four heats held on Tuesday were all run hard and fast, and all four winners were fresh up, suggesting each should take further benefit. ARODA (8) was locked away three back on the poles in his heat before getting to the outside and claiming victory. Just outside the money in the Qld Derby the start prior, he will be stalking the speed awaiting the opening. WISPER A SECRET (9) was runner-up to THE LOST STORM in the Qld Derby three starts back before a given a short break. Resuming with a 2nd when beaten a half-head at Newcastle in a NSW Breeders Challenge heat, he had the closing speed out of the trail to win on Tuesday in stylish fashion. Getting the gap, he can throw it down. AARDIES FLASH (1) faced gate 7 in his heat on Tuesday and slid across early to find the 1x1 trail. Angled to the outside, he attacked the line hard to claim the prize as the fastest heat winner. He has all the options to be right in the fight. ILLAVABUBBLES (5) was mighty brave in the heat, sitting parked and hanging tough to hold on for 3rd when 5m away as AARDIES FLASH arrived in 51.7. The gate makes it an ask, but she can chime in. SELECTIONS: ARODA (8), WISPER A SECRET (9), AARDIES FLASH (1), ILLAVABUBBLES (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN BETTOR CULLECT (3) was put away following the triad Final where she finished midfield from the second line behind RYLEE RHAYNE BOW. Fresh into that final following her victory in the Redcliffe Sales Final, she was not asked for much in a recent trial but has the gate to stake a first up claim. GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (6) tackled older horses last start from inside the second line where he was buried in the run before attacking the line strongly in the stretch to arrive for the prize. Claiming the Triad Consolation three starts back, the wide gate stings, but he has a fitness edge on many of these. COSMIC FLYER (9) was put away after the Triad Final where she struck trouble in the run. Showing he is above average in three wins in his previous five starts, he can trail through to feature fresh. BRONSKI ZULU (7) is given no favours from the outside paint first up after being sent for a break following his last start 3rd in the Triad Final behind QUIK CHANGE. He will need some favours. SELECTIONS: BETTOR CULLECT (3), GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (6), COSMIC FLYER (9), BRONSKI ZULU (7) SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR CULLECT (3) to win
RACE EIGHT It will be a big ask for the class mare of the field to overcome a wide gate first up from a spell but with wins in both prior campaigns first up, UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (7) can defy the gate to claim this. Mighty brave in defeat last start from this gate when 7m from AMORE VITA, she defeated some classy mare’s the start prior and can return with a bang. HOLI STARZZZ (9) was large in defeat here last week in a 70Final when sent forward from gate 7 to sit parked and still giving to the wire when under 2m from the dictating LOUS DREAM. A sharp heat winner for that final had followed a win in open mare’s grade and the fitness edge can see her throw it down. MIGHT AS WELL (8) had been knocking on the door and finally last week it opened when she arrived in the closing stages to claim a 4m winning margin. Needing some luck, she will be searching for gaps. WILD IMAGINATION (4) was a winner of a mare’s qualifier four starts back and has managed to place at her past two in succession. Firing early bullets, she can be in position to grab a minor. SELECTIONS: UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (7), HOLI STARZZZ (9), MIGHT AS WELL (8), WILD IMAGINATION (4) SUGGESTED BET: UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (7) to win
RACE NINE Showing that she has above average ability and missing a placing once in a short five start career, JESEEKA (4) will face her biggest test here fresh. Scoring a smart win last start from the second line over the 2138 trip, it followed a dominant win at the mile. With a strong trial to open the pipes, she can step forward. CHEER LEADER (6) is fresh up here after fading last start to the rear in a strong 3YO race after being asked to sit parked from a wide gate. Placed in the Qld Oaks and the Triad Final in both previous starts, she was not asked for much in a recent trial. The gate hurts but she brings a class edge. BRONSKI DELIGHT (5) was sent for a spell following the Triad Final where she was midfield behind JEWEL MELODY. Facing second line gates in both prior starts, she can be chiming in here fresh. FRAYA (1) will take some benefit from her last start where she was returning from a spell but struck trouble in the run. With the benefit of an economical trip, she can grab some minor money. SELECTIONS: JESEEKA (4), CHEER LEADER (6), BRONSKI DELIGHT (5), FRAYA (1) SUGGESTED BET: JESEEKA (4) to win
RACE TEN Placed at his past two starts and with good speed off the arm, the conditions look right for SOEXTRA (2) to regain some winning form. Strong to the line last start chasing for 2nd behind ALTA REVELRY, he led until deep stretch two back when 1.5m from CLASSIE WASHINGTON. He can see this out. AWAYWEGO (3) made full use of the ace two starts back to lead them up and see them off with 8m to spare in an all the way victory. Asked to hang tough parked outside the leader last start, the trip took its toll as he faded to be out of the money. He might need to grind hard again. CONGO LINE (8) found the 1x1 trail last week and was able to make a late rally to grab the bronze behind BEACH VILLA. With a soft peg trip from this gate, he can be chiming in late once again. ULTIMATE HUGHEY (9) was a winner two starts back when doing it tough outside the leader and holding on for a narrow victory. Fading over the 2138 last start, he can be making a play here. SELECTIONS: SOEXTRA (2), AWAYWEGO (3), CONGO LINE (8), ULTIMATE HUGHEY (9) SUGGESTED BET: SOEXTRA (2) to win
