RACE ONE
A rating certainty on paper last week when first up in Qld, PACIFICO DREAM (12) transferred the figures in the form guide to performance on the racetrack. Leading from gate 1, he was able to dictate in a steady opening half and putting them away late. Fitter for the run, he can arrive. HOLI STARZZZ (4) was sent to sit parked over the mile two starts back and after the tough trip was able to hold on for the silver behind UPTOWN BEACHGIRL. Beaten by a wide gate last start behind ANNA LOVE, she can get handy from this gate to issue a challenge. SAINT CRUSADER (11) overcame gate 12 to score here two starts back and then last start was runner-up to POCKET THE CASH from gate 9. Another tough gate to negotiate makes it an ask. NURBURGRING (1) lands the ace again to make it a hat-trick from the inside alley. Taking the trail and finishing best of the chasers behind TEDDY DISCO last week, the gate is a huge asset. SELECTIONS: PACIFICO DREAM (12), HOLI STARZZZ (4), SAINT CRUSADER (11), NURBURGRING (1) SUGGESTED BET: PACIFICO DREAM (12) to win
RACE TWO
An even looking bunch to do battle in this qualifier with very limited winning form in recent starts to take into consideration. MAKARA (4) has been on the ODM embargo and last start eased to the poles from gate 12, but there was a bit to like in how he finished it off. Back in the draw is a big plus. MISTER REACTOR (8) was a winner up the passing lane here five runs back when securing the pocket trip and having the speed to dart through and collect. Not much has gone his way of late and relying on favours from this gate, if he can get the space with momentum, he is up to issuing a challenge. KADAR (2) was forced to retreat from the centre of the line last start and then from deep field faced a task as the race was controlled from the front. Closing out nicely two starts back, he can feature. TIGER BY THE TAIL (1) was not that far from them three starts back when just missing the money behind SAINT CRUSADER. With the chance for a soft pocket trip, he can be ready to pounce. SELECTIONS: MAKARA (4), MISTER REACTOR (8), KADAR (2), TIGER BY THE TAIL (1) SUGGESTED BET: MAKARA (4) to win
RACE THREE
A 2138m event where the front line looks loaded with speed and tempo, ALTA REVELRY (9) can be the one sitting back and watching it unfold. A winner under that pattern four runs back when descending, nothing has been in his favour since. He can power over the top of them late. BIG SKEWY (4) tackled this trip when set alight at the mile last start but was repelled for the front and forced to park. Throwing heat in the opening half, it was the quickest first half of a 2138 contest recorded in the past 7 years, possibly ever. A brave effort to hold 3rd, he can throw it down again. MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (7) was second up from a spell here last week when hitting the line strongly over the closing stages for the bronze behind MR MCLAREN. The gate stings, but he can chime in. CLASSIE WASHINGTON (8) was given his shot in the Be Good Johnny Sprint last start and it was always going to be tough after landing the second line. Mapping is the concern from this gate. SELECTIONS: ALTA REVELRY (9), BIG SKEWY (4), MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (7), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (8) SUGGESTED BET: ALTA REVELRY (9) to win
RACE FOUR
A winner four starts back under these same conditions when starting from the same impost, TAIRLAW TOLL (9) can look to chase the repeat. Grinding out the win first over on that occasion, he has been besieged by poor gates in the three runs since and avoiding traffic is up to this. MIRACLE MOOSE (7) faced a tricky gate and from back in the pack was up against it as CAPTAIN SHUFFLES dictated in a slick mile. Facing a similar dilemma the start prior against the tempo, he moves ahead 10m from his last attempt from behind the tapes which helps his challenging chances. NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (6) was second up from a spell last start when chasing inside runs and closing out in nice order for the bronze behind CAPTAIN SHUFFLES. A good stand record helps his claims. TIZ A SIZZLER (12) was a winner from a 10m tape five runs back and then three back was 4m from the winner TAIRLAW TOLL when giving away 20m. Dictating last start from the mobile, he is in the mix. SELECTIONS: TAIRLAW TOLL (9), MIRACLE MOOSE (7), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (6), TIZ A SIZZLER (12) SUGGESTED BET: TAIRLAW TOLL (9) to win
RACE FIVE
Making his Qld debut in a strong contest, CHISELED (9) was just 4m from FOR REAL LIFE over the 2138 trip in holding 3rd. Taken to Redcliffe for his heat of this Series, he powered up from gate 4 to get across and from the front ran a slick last 800 to claim victory. Despite the gate, he can arrive. ESCOBAR (2) was well supported last start from gate 5 and after easing into the running line was saved for one shot. Hitting the line hard to run the winner MISTER FONZI to a neck margin, he should strip fitter for the run, where he was second up off a spell. He has the gate to challenge. SO SIRIUS (5) claimed a consolation of the last 70Series when sent around them from the second line in the early stages and proved too strong. Midfield to OK BOOMER two back, he has claims. LEITHEN BURN (8) was able to take control here last start and from the front pulled clear to a 12m margin in a sub 55 last 800. Needing a slice of luck form this gate, he can chime in off speed. SELECTIONS: CHISELED (9), ESCOBAR (2), SO SIRIUS (5), LEITHEN BURN (8) SUGGESTED BET: CHISELED (9) to win
RACE SIX
Asked to sit parked here last week after rolling forward three-wide early MADAMOISELLE JUJON (2) faded in the closing stages. Runner-up to SOEXTRA here two starts back from the pocket trail, she finds the gate to get across early and with options thereafter, looks to get her chance. DELTA THREE (3) eased from gate 6 here last week and settled at the rear. Making a strong challenge down the outside, she attacked the line to run the passing lane winner to a 3m margin, closing it out with a slick last 800. Finding a cheap position from this alley, she can challenge. LAST CALL (1) angled to the inside here last week and with the three poles trip, darted through when the gap presented to claim a narrow victory. With a similar trip, she can be chiming in. GWYNETH P (5) has been hitting some good areas in recent weeks and last time mapped for the perfect trip and capitalised up the passing lane. Gate 5 makes it a tougher ask. SELECTIONS: MADAMOISELLE JUJON (2), DELTA THREE (3), LAST CALL (1), GWYNETH P (5) SUGGESTED BET: MADAMOISELLE JUJON (2) to win
RACE SEVEN
The consolation of the latest 70Series and if the map can favour FALCONS (8), he might just be in the right position to pinch this. Buried at Redcliffe last start and facing too big a task with the leader finishing them off in sub-28, he was luckless here two back. This is within his reach. SAVING MAJOR PERCY (1) was second up for the new stable when descending on them in the closing stages from a second line gate to grab the prize. With an early look that was repelled last start from gate 5, he can look to take advantage of the gate and will be trying to fight them off. CAPTAINS PICK (10) was shuffled to three back on the inside at Redcliffe from gate 1 last start when finishing 7m from the winner CHISELED. A smart effort two back, he can be chiming in here. BETTERTHAN POPSY (5) was a Redcliffe winner four runs back when resuming from a spell and then here last week stepped up when 3rd to TEDDY DISCO. He is in the mix from a tricky gate. SELECTIONS: FALCONS (8), SAVING MAJOR PERCY (1), CAPTAINS PICK (10), BETTERTHAN POPSY (5) SUGGESTED BET: FALCONS (8) win/place
RACE EIGHT
Shuffled to four back along the inside from this gate last time out, SERGIOS ROCKET (8) launched in the closing stages to get within a head of the winner GOLDIES A DELIGHT. A smart Redcliffe winner three back, she just needs the gap to arrive in time to light the after burners. APHRODITE (4) was allowed to stride forward from this same gate last week and setting the tempo out in front, led all bar where it counted as GOLDIES A DELIGHT grabbed her on the wire. Beaten an eyelash the start prior, she can press on again here and be trying to turn the margin in her favour. SISTA BLISS (10) was set alight at the 600 last week to move forward and putting the leader away turning for home, looked set to see it out. Nabbed up the passing lane, she can feature again. JAZIAH (3) held on for the bronze last week after sitting in the pocket trail and then angling to the outside to make her challenge. Only a head away from the winner, she can be thereabouts again. SELECTIONS: SERGIOS ROCKET (8), APHRODITE (4), SISTA BLISS (10), JAZIAH (3) SUGGESTED BET: SERGIOS ROCKET (8) to win
RACE NINE
KING OF THE NORTH (3) made the most of the mobile conditions when second up from a spell in a midweek event, sent straight to the front from gate 4. Pulling clear to an effortless victory in a strong closing half, he will strip fitter again and can power up early and look to dictate. MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (1) added another minor placing to the tally last start when safely away and holding on for 3rd behind FUNNY FACE. Runner-up in all three starts prior, he has been a model of consistency and mapping for the soft trip behind the speed, can again look to challenge. MAJESTIC HARRY (8) resumed from a spell with a smart win when powering home in the closing stages to score. Placed in both runs since, the latest when trying to lead throughout, he has the second line options to utilise. THEBESTBOURBON (7) arrives in Qld for ID23 and brings a tidy last start effort over the Menangle 2300 when 4m from the winner ONE OVER ALL. A strong 2nd three runs back, she is right in this. SELECTIONS: KING OF THE NORTH (3), MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (1), MAJESTIC HARRY (8), THEBESTBOURBON (7) SUGGESTED BET: KING OF THE NORTH (3) to win
RACE TEN
There is some serious 3YO talent in this race and while it may be a field of six, a winning claim could be lodged by every runner under the right circumstance. AARDIES FLASH (4) was taking the passing lane shot when just a half-neck from FOR REAL LIFE last start which had followed his Peak of The Creek victory. A small field to round up helps his chances. OK BOOMER (2) fired out from gate 4 to find the front at the mile last start and saw it out to claim The Bill Dixon. Collared in the closing strides by AARDIES FLASH after setting the speed two starts back in the Peak Final, his chances will rise exponentially if he can get to the front off the arm. ALWAYS SMOKIN (1) was a winner four runs back when pressing to the front and taking them all the way over this trip. Not too far off them at his next two, the gate is all the difference here. SELECTIONS: AARDIES FLASH (4), OK BOOMER (2), ALWAYS SMOKIN (1) SUGGESTED BET: AARDIES FLASH (4) to win
