RACE ONE
Afforded no favours from the outside paint, there looks some good tempo in paper that will give the chance for GLOVER (7) to take his shot. Charging home from the rear and wide out last start at Redcliffe as MACH DADDY landed a passing lane victory, he might just defy the gate to pinch it. BONNIES CAM (1) should appreciate a fence gate after facing the outside front line at his past two starts. Finding the front from six at Redcliffe last start and setting a slick tempo, he was keen when parked here two back from gate 7. Just out of the money in each, he gets his chance from this alley. LITTLELIONELJAMES (9) tackled the Inter Regional Heat at Marburg last start and was no suited when trying to make a late play from outside the second line. Rattling late here three back, he can chime in here. MAJOR MEMPHIS (5) is first up in Qld for Stephen Cini and arrives a five-time winner. Darting across before releasing two starts back at Newcastle, he can get forward to feature in this line up. SELECTIONS: GLOVER (7), BONNIES CAM (1), LITTLELIONELJAMES (9), MAJOR MEMPHIS (5) SUGGESTED BET: GLOVER (7) to win
RACE TWO
After two runs back form a spell, BANGKOK DEEJAY (11) has produced runs of an impending winner on both occasions. Chargin along the passing lane first up when a head from the winner, he was strong to the line wide off the track at Redcliffe last start when running a slick closing half. His record at the middle trip is not super, but the right trip can see him descend. BOBBY WATERHOUSE (1) has been runner-up in both local starts since arriving from the Shaky Isles, the latest when asked to sit parked from gate 5 over the Redcliffe sprint trip. That was run in slick time and with the big gate improvement, he finds his chance to capitalise. ESCOBAR (8) will be sweating on the one looking to lead throughout and under that map, would be stalking the speed and awaiting the gap. Not suited wide out at Redcliffe last start, he was collared late in a 70Final two starts back. He will be probing. ALWAYS SMOKIN (7) is on the backup from Tuesday where he faced a second line gate and ripped home a sub 55 half to be just 1m from the dictating winner. The gate dents the hopes, but he can feature. SELECTIONS: BANGKOK DEEJAY (11), BOBBY WATERHOUSE (1), ESCOBAR (8), ALWAYS SMOKIN (7) SUGGESTED BET: ESCOBAR (8) win/place
RACE THREE
TOP OF THE MOMENT (5) started from outside the second line last start when sent to the post as fav and when making his run, did not get a smooth passage. Unplaced in that when chasing a threepeat of victories after two impressive efforts, he can press forward from the 10m with the only query the 13 furlong trip where he is untested. KINGDOM COME (8) looked to have a bit to offer last start but never found the open space he needed when kept behind a tiring runner. Strong to the line at the end of the 2138 trip two starts back, he is safe off the mark and given a cosy trip can be looking to descend with a closing challenge. NORTIE NORTIE (6) was first up from a spell last start when buried on the poles from the inside second line alley. With an uninterrupted passage, he had the closing speed to arrive and can feature again. TAM OSHANTER (9) was attacking the line with power in the quasi-ID Trot consolation last start when 2m from CONSTANTINOPLE. 3m from TOP OF THE MOMENT three starts back, he meets him at the same differential here. SELECTIONS: TOP OF THE MOMENT (5), KINGDOM COME (8), NORTIE NORTIE (6), TAM OSHANTER (9) SUGGESTED BET: TOP OF THE MOMENT (5) to win
RACE FOUR
Breaking through for her first AP victory when claiming a mare’s qualifier three starts back SERGIOS ROCKET (3) was then game in defeat after sitting parked from outside the front line, finishing just behind the money. 3rd to HOLI STARZZZ last start, this looks within reach. PLAYA BLANCA (1) was asked to sit parked last start when working hard in sizzling time at Redcliffe as HOLI STARZZZ proved too good. A beaten fav here two starts back, she nearly fought them off in front three back when leading every stride bar, the one that counted. The gate is a huge help. CAPTAIN OF SPEED (2) was runner-up here two starts back when trying to take them all the way but collared late by CHARLIES ACE. Not suited last start at Redcliffe, she has early hustle and can press forward to feature. MISSTREPO (8) overcame the outside second line at Redcliffe last start when charging home to arrive in the closing strides. With the options for the soft trip, she is a podium player once again. SELECTIONS: SERGIOS ROCKET (3), PLAYA BLANCA (1), CAPTAIN OF SPEED (2), MISSTREPO (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE
Backing up out of the Inter Dominion Series where sectionally he could not have been any better, SEND IT (10) should appreciate the drop back in company despite the gate here. Needing a gap sooner when still closing hard last start behind CANTFINDABETTORMAN, he can power over the top of them at the end of the long trip. TEDDY DISCO (6) was second up when taking them all the way at the mile in a new career PB with 8m to spare on the wire. Placed in both runs since where he has been gunned down, the latest was when setting a sub 55 closing half. This is a step up from his four runs back and he gets out to the 13 furlongs which does ask some questions. He might just have the answers. BIG SKEWY (1) is airborne and after stretching CLASSIE WASHINGTON every step when parked three runs back, he has since claimed a pair of smart victories at the 2138. The big concern looks his position from this gate as he can take some time to warm up. ROMANEE (3) will be looking to annex the Redcliffe/AP Christmas Cup double after leading throughout on Wed night over the 2280 trip. A smart 3rd to POCKET THE CASH three starts back, he is right in the fight. SELECTIONS: SEND IT (10), TEDDY DISCO (6), BIG SKEWY (1), ROMANEE (3) SUGGESTED BET: SEND IT (10) to win
RACE SIX
Overcoming the second line at Redcliffe last start when powering home over the top, MADRIGAL (8) finds a mare’s qualifier that is not too much harder. Tackling open mare’s two starts back behind HOLI STARZZZ, she took them all the way here five runs back. With the options to plot her course from this gate, she can arrive. SHEREACTS (5) eased from this alley last start and was chasing in vain as SWEET MIRACLE pulled clear to score. A Redcliffe winner three starts back when overcoming the second line, she can get forward from this alley and closer to the action can issue a challenge. CARLY MORGAN (6) eased from this same gate to find the poles and chase short cuts last start when grabbing the bronze behind ROCKRNOLL MAMA. Midfield in a Peak of The Creek heat behind OH BOOMER the start prior, she can feature. HEAVENLY WISDOM (2) steps up in grade here but can bring winning form after claiming a Redcliffe victory last start from the 1x1 trail. Just a half-neck away the start prior, she is a podium chance. SELECTIONS: MADRIGAL (8), SHEREACTS (5), CARLY MORGAN (6), HEAVENLY WISDOM (2) SUGGESTED BET: MADRIGAL (8) to win
RACE SEVEN
Angled away from the inside second line last start, APHRODITE (5) was charging home in the closing stages, tracking the eventual winner SWEET MIRACLE into the race, and grabbing the silver. Runner-up to SERGIOS ROCKET three runs back, this looks her chance to capitalise. SISTA BLISS (7) faces a tough ask from outside the front line but has had wide gates in recent starts. Placed at her past four in succession and been no closer than gate 6, she has proven costly to punters who have sent out as the fav at her past three in succession. Despite the gate, she can throw it down in this line up. BORN TO WRITE (8) takes a big step up here after just eight career starts to date. An effortless winner at Redcliffe last start when pulling clear to claim a 23m margin, she has the second line options. SHEZ GOT BLING (1) has placed in three of her past five starts, the latest here on Tuesday when making some late metres behind FLY CHEVAL. With all the benefits of the gate, she can feature. SELECTIONS: APHRODITE (5), SISTA BLISS (7), BORN TO WRITE (8), SHEZ GOT BLING (1) SUGGESTED BET: APHRODITE (5) to win
