Form Analysis: Redcliffe January 23

RACE 1 

PLAYING FOR KEEPS (5) led and her chance last start when beaten into second. It appeared to be greenness that was her undoing last start waiting for the once getting clear and kicking back once headed. She should be better for that outing. 

THREEOEIGHT (4) has been impressive in recent outings. He had to work hard last start and battled on reasonably well there. 

FRANKIE GIRL (7) impressed two starts ago when running on strong late to get into third. This looks a good draw where she will have options early. 

FLY BURRA (3) ran on strongly last start into fourth. 

SELECTIONS: PLAYING FOR KEEPS (5), THREEOEIGHT (4), FRANKIE GIRL (7), FLY BURRA (3)

SUGGESTED BET: THREEOEIGHT (4) each way. 

RACE 2 

ROSEANNE RUBY (6) is a gate speed horse that finds a race where there doesn’t appear to be a huge amount of gate speed. If she is able to cross early she would prove very hard to catch. 

MAJOR MISCHIEF (2) returned last start with a win in what looked an easier race. Looks likely to find the pegs and should get his chance. 

OUR LITTLE SKIPPER (7) returns in this race after over a month. Has plenty of ability and looks well suited in this race. 

MATAI REACTOR (8) is rarely far away. Ran on strongly last start into second. Looks another race he can be thereabouts in.

RACE 3

MARKSMAN (1) had no luck last start when getting a long way back in a slowly run race. Impressed two runs ago when able to lead and can likely do similar in this race. 

IDEAL TIGER (3) looks well graded in this race having taken on Goodtime Cracker last start at Albion Park. If he can secure a good run he should be thereabouts in this. 

MONTEREY JACK (7) has a good peg line draw to follow out a reasonable beginner. If he is able to hold his spot early he should be thereabouts. 

HEAVENLY WISDOM (5) was a very impressive winner two runs ago. This looks much easier than that race.

RACE 4 

MISTER HART (1) is a gate speed horse and was able to lead and win recently. He has been good in his last two outings and draws to get plenty of favours in this race. 

TULHURST CUDDLES (2) loomed up and raced away before being nabbed late by Keayang Tara last start. She beat third there easily and this race looks a touch easier. 

THE GROGMOTHER (8) was first up last start and got a good run. She just wasn’t pulled into the clear until the race was over and she could only manage fifth. Should go better in this race. 

MELTON INSULTED (4) is a horse with brilliant gate speed. She looks better suited in this race and if she can find a good position she should be thereabouts.

SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST CUDDLES (2) to win. 

RACE 5

LETS GET SHORTY (3) has been thereabouts in better races at Albion Park. Draws to get plenty of favours and may even be able to find the front early in this race. 

CRIME TIME (9) has a tendency to mix his form to some extent. He doesn’t get many favours from the outside back row draw but he is certainly capable of figuring in a race of this nature. 

LARA BAY (8) scored a good win after securing an economical run last start. She is unlikely to get as many favours from this draw but still looks a solid hope. 

MACH TORQUE (6) doesn’t get any favours from the wide draw in this race but has certainly been in good enough form to figure on recent form.

SUGGESTED BET: LETS GET SHORTY (3) to win. 

RACE 6 

CAPTAINS PICK (7) returns from a spell after a few months. He is a quality horse and would be very well suited in this race should he be fit enough first up. 

LORD MEMNOCK (3) took on a very strong race last start with plenty of depth and finish out the back there. He should find this much easier and should be fitter for that outing. 

MIDNIGHT CALM (4) hasn’t been racing at his best in recent outings. He is capable at his best and would be suited in this field on some of his better form. 

ROLLING BONUS (1) was able to lead and really control things out in front there making it a dash home. He steps right up in grade and appears outclassed but has drawn to get plenty of favours in the run.

SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAINS PICK (7) to win. 

RACE 7

PRECOCIOUS KATE (4) appears to have enough gate speed to suggest she may be able to push her way to the front in this race which would see her very hard to beat on recent efforts. She is versatile and can go about things a few ways. 

SKYGIRL (5) was a very impressive winner last start when able to work hard and keep kicking to score there. She may need to do the work again in this race from another wide draw. 

STUDLEIGH MARK (6) worked too hard last start and just faded late while not having a great deal of luck. If he could secure a more economical trip in this race he can be thereabouts. 

MAJOR LINCOLN (9) took on a stronger race last start. He is capable and can figure in this race. 

SELECTIONS: PRECOCIOUS KATE (4), SKYGIRL (5), STUDLEIGH MARK (6), MAJOR LINCOLN (9)

SUGGESTED BET: PRECOCIOUS KATE (4) to win. 

RACE 8

NAUTIE GALVINATOR (3) had no luck last start when only into the clear very late before hitting the line strongly. He draws reasonably and should be thereabouts again. 

GOODOLDBOYSANDBEER (9) hasn’t had much luck in recent outings when facing the breeze. This race looks a touch easier and he might appreciate the step back to the 1780. 

SHEREACTS (8) draws to follow a quick beginner and shouldn’t be too far off them. Her last two runs have been good enough for a race like this. 

WAR CLUB (5) is a very capable sit sprint horse. He should be running on well again.
