RACE ONE

A competitive qualifier to open the card where GLOVER (2) can look to capitalise from this alley. Taken back from gate 7 last start, he was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the silver behind ROCTAGONAL. Just a half-head away the start prior, this looks within reach.

REDS STAR DEAL (8) was an all the way winner at Redcliffe two starts back when sent forward to take control and from the front was able to claim a smart victory. Buried away over the 2040 last start, he is a seven-time winner but still a maiden on this deck. Stalking the speed, he can challenge.

TIGER BY THE TAIL (3) looked to have his chance last start when looming up but could not reel them in when 3m from the winner LANAI. That was his first minor in nine attempts here at HQ and he can look to add another here.

SPORTING RAGE (1) has been bereft of barrier luck since arriving in Qld and finally looks to have secured a rub of the green. Runner-up from outside the second line at Redcliffe two starts back, he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: GLOVER (2), REDS STAR DEAL (8), TIGER BY THE TAIL (3), SPORTING RAGE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: GLOVER (2) to win

RACE TWO

Sent hard off the arm here last week to find the front, BEACH VILLA (2) was setting the tempo that resulted in the winner rating 1.50.6. Gripping on for the bronze, it had followed a tough trip when parked. He does not need to dial it back too far this week to see it out.

TIMS A TROOPER (9) was asked to sit parked here last week and was brave in defeat after an opening panel in sub 27 before a closing half in sub-55. Gripping on for the silver as NORTHVIEW HUSTLER charged hard to score, he can follow through early here to be in position to challenge.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8) turned back the clock here last week and displayed a devastating turn of hoof to rattle home in the closing stages for an impressive victory. He will be locked away again here and if the gap arrives, can look to repeat.

ROMANEE (5) secured the Redcliffe Christmas Cup two starts back when sent to the front and able to dictate over the 2280m trip. Runner-up to ALTA REVLERY last start, he is a podium chance from this gate.

SELECTIONS: BEACH VILLA (2), TIMS A TROOPER (9), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (8), ROMANEE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BEACH VILLA (2) to win

RACE THREE

A scratching in a race that looked ideal here last week, MAKARA (3) was strong to the line last start from a second line barrier when under 4m from the winner SMART MIRACLE in sharp time. Luckless when buried the start prior as BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS was allowed to dictate in front, his effort three back behind PACIFICO DREAM was full of merit. He is up to this.

SURF ACE (4) held the pocket trail here two starts back and with the cosy trip held on for the silver behind the dictating PACIFICO DREAM. Trying to make metres wide off the track at Redcliffe last start, he can press forward here and look to turn his fortunes around.

RED RIGHT HAND (7) tackled tougher opposition last start when buried from the inside second line as NORTHVIEW HUSTLER rattle late to score. Making good metres behind ALTA REVELRY the start prior, the gate dents his chances.

LIGHTNING DAN (3) was runner-up here three starts back when sent forward to sit parked, grinding out a tough performance when 5m adrift of the winner. He may need to be working again here.

SELECTIONS: MAKARA (3), SURF ACE (4), RED RIGHT HAND (7), LIGHTNING DAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAKARA (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Making the most of this same gate last start when burrowing through to hold them out early, ROCKNROLL MAMA (1) was able to dictate terms and then grip on in the closing stages to claim a narrow victory. Overcoming the outside second line three starts back, she has the gate to capitalise.

ORCHID STRIDE (9) has not really fired in three runs here at The Creek but might just have found the right conditions to turn things around. Forced to do it tough when parked last start as HOLI STARRZZZ was able to arrive, she finds the right opposition to throw down the challenge.

BETTYS GOLD CLASS (8) eased from gate 5 last week to settle on the poles and with the economical trip was able to charge hard when the gaps arrived to score. With another soft trip, she can feature.

APHRODITE (3) found the 1x1 trail from inside the second line here two starts back and made a late play to be 1m from the winner SWEET MIRACLE. Taking a mare’s qualifier last start when leading throughout, she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL MAMA (1), ORCHID STRIDE (9), BETTYS GOLD CLASS (8), APHRODITE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-9

RACE FIVE

Two from two since arriving in Qld, both performances by SWEET MIRACLE (1) have been impressive. Sent around them from the second line when first up, she was able to grind out a tough win in smart time. Backing that up with another tough win from gate 5, the gate is a huge asset.

MADRIGAL (8) was a winner at Redcliffe three starts back when powering home over the top to claim a narrow margin. Placed in both attempts since, she chased from back in the pack last start when 4m from the winner BONNIES DANCE. If she is leaders back turning for home, she can strike.

SISTA BLISS (3) has been consistent in recent outings with placings at her past five in succession in this grade. A tough effort last start from gate 7 when parked, she can be thereabouts again here.

BRONSKI DELIGHT (2) started from inside the second line last start and with the perfect trip behind the speed made the closing shot a winning one in the stretch. She can be in position to chime in.

SELECTIONS: SWEET MIRACLE (1), MADRIGAL (8), SISTA BLISS (3), BRONSKI DELIGHT (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Returning to Qld for another campaign, the 5YO LOCHINVAR JAG (1) has been a consistent performer in previous trips to The Creek. Midfield from outside the second line at his last appearance here back in early November, he will be second up off a freshen and can capitalise.

GOTTA GO MILKING (4) had been running good races from bad gates and suggested a change of fortunes was all he needed to convert an opportunity to W. Searching for luck from the second line last time, the luck arrived and he darted through to score. Back to the front is a huge plus.

LANAI (8) is in search of a hat-trick after successive victories here at the mile, the latest when claiming a qualifying victory. He will likely be buried here and probing for the openings.

BETTERTHAN POPSY (3) was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when sent forward to sit parked and was able to grind out the victory. He can get handy again here to be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LOCHINVAR JAG (1), GOTTA GO MILKING (4), LANAI (8), BETTERTHAN POPSY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LOCHINVAR JAG (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

These QBRED rated events can be tricky affairs but if BETTING ORIGIN (9) can overcome the mapping difficulties, he looks to have the class edge on the opposition. Beaten a blister last start when charging home in the closing stages, he held 3rd behind ALWAYS SMOKIN two back and can arrive here.

CHAMONIX (5) was runner-up in a heat of the Inter Regional Series three starts back after being sent forward to do the heavy lifting outside the leader. Making a late raid in the final when 3rd behind BEEF CITY BLAZE, he finds the right grade here to throw down the challenge.

THERESACHANCE (8) completed a hat-trick of victories on The Triangle on Wednesday night when leading them all the way. He can be tucked away here awaiting the gap to chime in.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (2) can rev up early and look for the lamp lighting duties, the place where he does his best work. Wide off the track last start, he has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: BETTING ORIGIN (9), CHAMONIX (5), THERESACHANCE (8), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTING ORIGIN (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

This is a dicey mare’s contest to dissect and despite coming up with the outside paint, SHEZA CRACKER (7) might just have enough edge to defy the impediment. Darting across to find the front from gate 3 last start, she was able to see it out. Position is a query, but she can still pinch it.

DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (5) will be backing up from Redcliffe on Thursday where she looked a solid chance of earning some of the thicker end of the stakes on offer. Runner-up to BETTYS GOLD CLASS two starts back when just a head away, she can get forward to throw down the challenge.

SUNRISE RUBY (6) was a consistent performer last season where she hit the board in 19 of her 30 appearances which included five victories. The gate makes it a tricky ask here.

COPY WRITER (1) resumed from a spell with the bronze when tucked away three back on the poles and finishing 6m from the winner SHEREACTS. The gate is a big help to her chances here.

SELECTIONS: SHEZA CRACKER (7), DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (5), SUNRISE RUBY (6), COPY WRITER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEZA CRACKER (7) to win

RACE NINE

Another tricky mare’s event to follow from race 8 and this one looks no easier to pinpoint. FRAYA (1) looks the obvious contender owing to the barrier, but she has struggled to convert her opportunities on this deck. A smart second from a tough gate at Redcliffe last start, she might be the one.

BORN TO WRITE (5) was sent forward from the outside front line last start and sitting parked was grinding it out when under 2m from the winner. Buried from inside the second line and grabbing the bronze two starts back, she can press forward to throw down a challenge.

SII SEMPRE TILLY (4) claimed the southern Inter Regional Heat three starts back when finishing best in the closing stages. Strong to the line last start when buried, the right tempo brings her right into calculations.

KATLAS DREAM (2) was sent hard off the arm last start from gate 6 to find the front but was keen and could not finish them off. Chasing when down the line behind APHRODITE the start prior, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: FRAYA (1), BORN TO WRITE (5), SII SEMPRE TILLY (4), KATLAS DREAM (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
