RACE ONE
A winner here three starts back when sent to the front to dictate, MAKARA (4) has had no luck at his past two starts when coming up with gate 7 in each appearance. Trying to weave a passage and hitting dead ends two starts back, the tempo was against last start. He can bounce back. JIMARTEE (6) was sent straight to the front last start and once in control was able to dictate the tempo and claim an effortless 6m margin. Strong to the line the start prior from outside the front line after retreating, he lands wide again here but can be looking to issue the challenge. GLENLEDI BOY (1) excels with a soft trip behind speed and lands the ideal gate for that pattern here. Too far back last start from inside the second line, he will be closer and probing here. CHAMONIX (3) has been hitting some good areas in recent outings, winning two of his past three and finishing runner-up in the other. This is tougher but he is in form.
SELECTIONS: MAKARA (4), JIMARTEE (6), GLENLEDI BOY (1), CHAMONIX (3) SUGGESTED BET: MAKARA (4) to win
RACE TWO
Another highly competitive 70Final has been assembled here and although coming up with a wide alley, the tempo should be there for BANGKOK DEEJAY (6) to overcome the impediment. Chasing a hat-trick after overcoming gate 7 in both his past two, the threepeat is on. THE BEAUDEN BLUES (9) was taken to the Redcliffe heat where he was sent forward from gate 4 and working early to find the front, was able to see them off in smart time once taking control. It has been a somewhat frustrating campaign to date for the 4YO, but he can throw it down. ALTA MAGACIAN (8) started from this same gate last start and after being buried in the run was able to dart through along the passing lane for 3rd. A similar trip can produce a similar result. SHELL SHOCK (4) was able to slot in behind the leader in his heat of this series and using the passing lane went within a blister of victory. Saving power will aid his chances in the stretch.
SELECTIONS: BANGKOK DEEJAY (6), THE BEAUDEN BLUES (9), ALTA MAGACIAN (8), SHELL SHOCK (4) SUGGESTED BET: BANGKOK DEEJAY (6) to win
RACE THREE
Eased from gate 5 to find the poles last time out, RED RIGHT HAND (4) was doing his best work in the closing stages when grabbing the silver behind HY VOLTAGE last time out. A beaten fav two starts back when gate 7 was a hurdle too high, this is a race that looks well within reach. PARAMA (5) tackled a veteran’s event here on Tuesday from this same gate and showing brilliant arm hustle, took control soon after the start and was able to see them off with a 1m victory. This is a step up, but he can look to charge across again and from the front will issue a challenge. GLOVER (10) has been a model of consistency of late, hitting the board in his past six in succession. A game 2nd to GOTTA GO MILKING last start, he can be thereabouts once again. BLACKJACK BART (1) held 3rd after a tough trip last start and lands the perfect gate to tuck in behind the speed and keep whacking away along the fence to chase some minor money.
SELECTIONS: RED RIGHT HAND (4), PARAMA (5), GLOVER (10), BLACKJACK BART (1) SUGGESTED BET: RED RIGHT HAND (4) to win
RACE FOUR
In cruise control here last week at his first appearance since being crowned the Inter Dominion and Grand Circuit Champion, LEAP TO FAME (6) should have little worry in securing his 31st AP victory as a date with the Hunter Cup beckons. The wide gate should be little obstacle. MANILA PLAYBOY (5) makes his first appearance since the ID consolation where he was faced with a second line gate and the tempo was well against anything chasing. Runner-up to SWAYZEE in the first-round heats, he trialled smartly last week and can look to rattle late. TIMS A TROOPER (1) will be looking to fortify his ticket south with the stablemate and lands the right gate to feature. Pressing to the front and seeing it out last start, he is a podium player. DEUS EX (8) secures the ideal gate with the fence likely a great spot to be in transit here. Taken back last week and too far away to be effective, he can chase some minor money.
SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (6), MANILA PLAYBOY (5), TIMS A TROOPER (1), DEUS EX (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 6 / 1-5-8
RACE FIVE
Faced with the outside second line last time out, WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (5) tried to make a move at the 400 but with the leader ripping home in 27.1 from the front, those chasing had little hope of bridging the gap. 3rd when needing space sooner two starts back, this is within reach. ETERNAL GOLD (1) is knocking on the door after finishing as the runner-up in three of his past four starts and secures a much-improved gate here. Strong to the line last start in wet conditions when a half-neck away, he closed hard the start prior behind BETTOR ROMANCE. MACH DADDY (2) was beaten by the gate last start when snagged off the arm from gate 5 and once he was rearward, a sub 55 last 800 in front made it impossible. An improved gate helps. ARGYLE (10) was sent to sit parked here two starts back and after a tough trip held on for the bronze behind AARDIES FLASH. Freshened, he will take some benefit from his last start.
SELECTIONS: WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (5), ETERNAL GOLD (1), MACH DADDY (2), ARGYLE (10) SUGGESTED BET: WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH (5) to win
RACE SIX
The consolation of the NR70 here and many of the runners are chasing a return to winning form. WHATA ROLLER (5) eased from gate 6 last time out and from deep field was making some nice metres in the closing stages. Not suited two starts back, positioning cheaply will be key, but this looks a race within reach. ALWAYS SMOKIN (8) is at risk of being snookered in the run here and will need a slice of luck and some factors in his favour to find clear air. Asked to sit parked from gate 7 in the heat and just missing the money, he will be probing for the gaps and if one arrives, can issue a challenge. LOUTHARIO (1) backs up from a midfield return at Redcliffe on Wednesday night after his past five have all been on The Triangle. From this gate, he can be just in behind the speed to chime in. ESCOBAR (7) is afforded no favours from the outside paint, but his past two efforts have been full of merit. Beaten a lip two starts back, he was under 2m from the winner last time.
SELECTIONS: WHATA ROLLER (5), ALWAYS SMOKIN (8), LOUTHARIO (1), ESCOBAR (7) SUGGESTED BET: WHATA ROLLER (5) to win
RACE SEVEN
An open second division qualifier to assess here where the early tempo will be key to the chances of many of these. REDS STAR DEAL (5) faces a potentially sticky gate and last start was beaten by gate 7 behind CATSEYE BEACH. Under 2m from the winner two back, he might just be the one. CLASS TO THE MAX (8) was sent out as the fav from outside the second line last start when sent to sit parked in the early stages. Fighting hard to hold on for the silver behind MISTER REACTOR, he will need a slice of luck to go his way from this alley, but if it arrives, so can he. STRUTTY (1) has faced a long run of bad gates and finally lands a marble to chase an improved finishing position. With early speed when called on, settling closer to the action is a huge plus. HEY MISTER TAYLOR (9) has a low conversion rate here at HQ with just a single win from his 29 appearances. That said he is never too far away and settling handy in the run can feature here.
SELECTIONS: REDS STAR DEAL (5), CLASS TO THE MAX (8), STRUTTY (1), HEY MISTER TAYLOR (9) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT
An open mare’s qualifier where the benefit of the fence draw can suit DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (1) who is never too far from the action. A winner from the trail here four runs back when darting through once the gap arrived, she snares all the options to cash in. ANGELSHAVTIME (6) missed out on the main division last start and tackling the second division mare’s event was able to prove too strong with a tough win. Grabbing the bronze three starts back behind IMA BEACH BABE, the wide gate makes it a tougher challenge. LULU LUCIFER (4) had been performing strongly on The Triangle and as given her chance here last start when grabbing the bronze behind BONNIES DANCE. Settling handy will help here. DIAMOND BIKINI (9) burrowed through from gate 1 last start and looking to fight them off, missed the money when finishing 4th. A half-head away three back, she can chime in here.
SELECTIONS: DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (1), ANGELSHAVTIME (6), LULU LUCIFER (4), DIAMOND BIKINI (9)
SUGGESTED BET: DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (1) to win
RACE NINE
A mare in form and not looking at risk of victory in recent outings, SWEET MIRACLE (6) can look to continue her winning ways here and make it a six-pack of victories to remain undefeated since arriving in Qld. Sent forward from 7 to take control last week and then cruising home to a 5m margin, she looks to have their measure. BONNIES DANCE (2) broke through with a qualifying victory here last week when covering some track in the early stages and then finishing over the top of them in the latter stages. A beaten fav when sent out in red figures the previous start, she can look to issue some form of challenge. BRONSKI DELIGHT (5) continued her consistent run last week when finishing runner-up to BONNIES DANCE. Placed behind SWEET MIRACLE in both prior starts, she can be thereabouts. CAPTAIN OF SPEED (1) found the 1x1 trail last week from gate 5 and was able to grab the bronze behind the airborne SWEET MIRACLE. From the gate, she is a podium hope.
SELECTIONS: SWEET MIRACLE (6), BONNIES DANCE (2), BRONSKI DELIGHT (5), CAPTAIN OF SPEED (1) SUGGESTED BET: SWEET MIRACLE (6) to win
RACE TEN
SHEZA CRACKER (4) backs up from a midweek win when dictating here on Tuesday after working forward to take control. Looking to be under pressure at the turn, she rallied strongly and saw them off with a head to spare. Now a five-time winner here, she can look for six. BORN TO WRITE (7) rolled forward to sit parked last start and after the tough trip faded over the closing stages to finish at the rear. Midfield the start prior when under 2m from the winner, she receives no favours from this gate, but if able to limit the toll midrace, can issue a challenge. FORGIVE ME (8) was forced to retreat last start and from deep field was closing it off in nice order when 3m from the winner ANGELSHAVTIME. From this gate, she will be searching. TACTFILLY MIRACLE (9) brings strong Redcliffe numbers to this race as she looks to convert that to the big deck. A winner at three of her past four and the past two in succession, she can chime in.
SELECTIONS: SHEZA CRACKER (4), BORN TO WRITE (7), FORGIVE ME (8), TACTFILLY MIRACLE (9) SUGGESTED BET: SHEZA CRACKER (4) to win
