RACE ONE Finding the poles last start from the 30m tape proved the difference for REGAL APPOINTMENT (2) who was able to find open space and pull clear to a 4m margin. Placed in both previous outings, he steps up here, but a move to the front tape is a huge asset. ITSALLANDOVER (1) has developed a smart record on this deck since arriving, with four wins and four minors in 12 attempts. Stepping cleanly last start but unable to go with them when DEFENSIVE GUY put the power on, it followed an all the way victory and he can challenge again. NORTIE NORTIE (6) faced this handicap last start and sitting back in the pack, made a forward move but the tempo was against as DEFENSIVE GUY kept them running. He can chime in. KING OF THE NORTH (4) was best of the chasing pack behind DEFENSIVE GUY last start and closed it out nicely to finish 10m in arrears. A safe start can see him right in the fight.

RACE TWO
A winner here two starts back when finding the trail from the 10m tape, JUST CALL ME MOLLY (3) was able to dive through and pull clear to a 10m margin. Not suited when forced to sit parked last start, she is a smart beginner and getting forward can look to see them off. ITSARAPT (8) rolled forward in the early stages last start and exposed for a brief period was able to secure the 1x1 trail. Looming in the latter stages to grab 2nd behind REGAL APPOINTMENT, he was finally able to trot throughout and if able to do so again, can throw it down. HAMMER SON (5) angled to the inside last time out and was working home soundly over the closing stages when out of the money. Fitter again from the run when second up, he has claims. KOHLI SON (6) was runner-up two starts back from a 20m tape after stepping cleanly and finding the pocket trail. Fading out last start, settling handy will be key to his chances.

RACE THREE
First up in Qld last start, KODA DA MODA (6) secured the 1x1 trail and entering the home stretch, loomed up strongly. Just peaking late and finishing under 2m from the winner TUMULT, she will strip fitter from the run and with the 10m advantage this week, can turn the tables. TUMULT (9) made a perfect start for the new stable when grinding out a tough victory here last week. Rolling forward to sit parked from a 10m impost, she was proved too strong in claiming a 2m margin. Despite the extra 10m for the win she will face here, she can issue a challenge. GLENEAGLE REIGN (8) began like a rocket last week and soon after the start, was in front from a 20m mark Collared in the closing stages to finish 3rd, he can be thereabouts once again. Finishing strongly after being faced with gate 7 last start when runner-up to subsequent winner MONTEREI DUKE, he can capitalise. COBBLER LANE (1) started from inside the second line last time out at Redcliffe when following the speed and finishing runner-up to CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN. Approaching three years since he last tasted victory, he can protect the poles here to issue the challenge. BLUE BLOODZ (10) was eased from gate 5 last start and made some good metres in the closing stages to finish 2m from MONTEREI DUKE. In this grade, he can be chiming in late. LANCELOT BROMAC (2) keeps on keeping on and should benefit from getting one horse wider after being snookered in the run from gate 1 at his past four in succession
SELECTIONS: TAPTHEKEG (8), COBBLER LANE (1), BLUE BLOODZ (10), LANCELOT BROMAC (2) SUGGESTED BET: TAPTHEKEG (8) to win

RIVERINA FLASH (4) has a tidy record at the middle trip and has been runner-up in two of his four attempts here at HQ. Strong to the line when wide at Redcliffe last start, he can chime in. Stepping out in Qld for his first race appearance fresh up from a spell, SIR BRIGADOON (5) arrives a five-time winner. An impeccably bred 6YO, with his dam being a sister to the mighty sire Art Major, he opened the pipes with a handy Redcliffe trial and can kick off in style. FOUR STAR LINCOLN (1) joins the Cristina Monte stable as a seven-time winner, his last victory at Newcastle two starts back when overcoming a second line gate. Asked to sit parked last start, he lands all the options first up to issue the challenge. EMPRESS BYELINE (2) has good speed when the arms fold and first up from a spell, found the front and then took cover when 3rd to MAYWYN TROUBADOR. Attacking the line last start, she is right in the fight. TAKE A CHANCE (4) started from gate 1 last time out and was beaten for early hustle and was soon snookered in the run. Finding the front last start at Redcliffe and able to see it out, this is another step up, but might just work out. THE JANITOR (2) will have to give away plenty of experience to his rivals here as he makes his race debut against some seasoned campaigners. A 3YO Always B Miki gelding, he arrived from NZ to the Turpin stable and after a tidy trial performance, will throw it down in an open affair. KULANI COURAGE (5) was sent around them from outside the second line last start to sit parked where despite a tough trip, he was able to see them off. He is right in the fight. RACE EIGHT
Despite facing the outside second line gate, MIRACLE MOOSE (10) should appreciate a return to veteran’s company for his first appearance of the year. Forced to work in the run last start when 3rd to ROMANEE in the Redcliffe Christmas Cup, he will be wide at some point but looks up to the task. ROCK BOTTOM (6) eased last time from the wide gate at the 2138 and from deep field was attacking the line strongly to just miss the money as PARAMA took them all the way. Buried in the run the start prior, he might be lit up here and from the front will give them the target. STORMTIDE (1) drops back into this grade for the first time after finishing at the rear of the pack last start behind JIMARTEE. Mixing his form somewhat, the gate gives him the chance to sharpen. COMMODORE JUJON (3) eased into the running line from outside the front-line last start when midfield to LOUTENANT. Runner-up to OUR MAJOR DAY two starts back, he can feature here.

MADRIGAL (1) was runner-up last start from this same gate in a tougher up to NR75 grade. Securing the economical trip against the markers, she was able to hold on 2nd behind LOUTENANT. Beaten by gate 7 at each of her previous two starts, she can strike in this. BOGLE MCNEEP (3) is only lightly raced and steps out for his fifth career outing. Getting it all wrong last start and trailing them home, he can look to turn it around to feature in the minors. MUCH BETTOR (8) has plenty of experience to call on and a lover of a soft peg trip, will be tucked away awaiting the gaps. A ten-time winner on this deck, he will be probing.
