Mareeba Turf Club meeting transferred

Racing Queensland advises the race meeting scheduled Saturday February, 24 at Mareeba Turf Club has been transferred to the Cairns Jockey Club.

Due to significant rainfall the track is currently considered unsuitable for racing on Saturday.  

This meeting will remain a 55kg weight minimum and hold the status of Country Apprentice Claims. Nominations for this meeting have been extended until 3pm today, with acceptances due 10am Thursday.

The transfer of this meeting has resulted in minor changes to the distances to several races on the program:

• Benchmark 65 Handicap was 1210m, is now 1250m;
• Benchmark 55 Handicap 1500m, remains 1500m;
• Benchmark 50 Handicap 900m, is now 950m;
• Benchmark 45 Handicap 1210m, is now 1250m; and
• Maiden Plate 1123m, is now 1250m.
