RACE ONE
The first 2YO only race of the season where all six runners will be making their debut. LIEUTENANT LOU (3) is a son of Sweet Lou prepared by Graham Dwyer that impressed in a recent trial when runner-up to subsequent dual winner BAZ. He looks to have some ability. SEASIDE GLORY (1) is a Ron Sallis trained filly by Downbytheseaside that trialled here on Friday. Doing everything right until the last 75m, she has the benefit of the inside gate. LITTLE SURFER GIRL (4) is one of three by Downbytheseaside in this race and she was able to lead throughout to earn the race ticket in a recent trial. SAMNATE (6) is another Downbytheseaside colt that is the first foal out of the four-time winning mare and full sister of Major Crocker. The wider gate hurts.
SELECTIONS: LIEUTENANT LOU (3), SEASIDE GLORY (1), LITTLE SURFER GIRL (4), SAMNATE (6) SUGGESTED BET: LIEUTENANT LOU (3) to win
RACE TWO
Resuming to start his 3YO term, AGENT BLACK (1) will race in Qld for the first time after both starts last season were at Menangle. A winner at both of those appearances, including victory in the APG Final, his latest trial was a strong effort when never taken off a helmet. He can strike fresh. INSTANT DELIGHT (13) will take good benefit from her last start where she was resuming from a spell. Safely away from the tapes, she took cover and then grabbed the bronze when 4m from the winner MY ULTIMATE EDDIE. The 50m makes it a tough ask here. HEAD EM UP (2) made a mess of things first up when the tapes released. Again sketchy off the mark, he was able to hang tough for the silver. With the advantage, he is in the mix. JAY ROWE (6) was too tough for them here two starts back when put into the contest early and able to pull clear to a big victory. Best of the rest last start behind GET USED TO IT, she is a podium hope.
SELECTIONS: AGENT BLACK (1), INSTANT DELIGHT (13), HEAD EM UP (2), JAY ROWE (6) SUGGESTED BET: AGENT BLACK (1) to win
RACE THREE
Scoring a dominant victory here on Friday, KICKATINALONGPONY (4) was put into the contest from gate 7 and asked to sit parked over this trip. In a starchy performance, he put them away and pulled clear to claim an 11m margin. From this gate, he can look for the back-to-back W. TORQUE LIKE MOTION (7) resumes to start her 4YO term after her last appearance came when finishing runner-up to JEWEL MELODY in the 3YO fillies Triad Final. The Qld Oaks winner three starts back, she has had two trials in readiness for the return where the small field helps. LUVBITE (2) was eased into space from inside the second line last start and was making a let raid when under 2m from the winner REGULUS. Collared in front two starts back, he is in the mix. TIMZEE (3) has good speed out of the machine and can look to get forward here. A passing lane third two starts back, the 2138 looks the main test for him.
SELECTIONS: KICKATINALONGPONY (4), TORQUE LIKE MOTION (7), LUVBITE (2), TIMZEE (3) SUGGESTED BET: KICKATINALONGPONY (4) to win
RACE FOUR
Kept fresh since her last appearance when strong over the closing stages after facing a second line gate, LULU MAE (6) finds the right opposition here. Drawn the second line two starts back when under 4m from the winner, she can get the right trip to capitalise. KEAYANG TARA (10) loves to work home off tempo and from this gate will be relying on some factors in her favour to get into the contest. A winner here five runs back, she has been no further than 4m from the winner in all four starts since. Look for her challenging late. BLUE BLOODZ (4) held the pocket trail last start from inside the second line when midfield at the 2138. Forced to sit parked the start prior, back to the mile can see him feature. MUSIC MOTH (7) made a mistake last start in the score up and was never able to feature when down the line. With early hustle, if she can get out of the mobile, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: LULU MAE (6), KEAYANG TARA (10), BLUE BLOODZ (4), MUSIC MOTH (7) SUGGESTED BET: LULU MAE (6) to win
RACE FIVE
An open contest here with the middle trip of the 2138 likely to have a few of these tapping out early. BEACH ON FIRE (10) had some early hustle over this trip before finding cover last time and finishing not that far from the winner BIG BOZZ. A winner four back, he can arrive again. SHEZ GOT BLING (2) has stung punters at her past three, going under in red figures at each of those appearances. Using the passing lane two starts back when under 3m from the winner, she has the early hustle to find the poles and from there has the options to issue a challenge. LANCELOT BROMAC (1) lines up for his 500th start on this deck and faces opposition that combined have 449 Albion Park appearances. Likely to be buried in the run and not ideally suited at the middle trip anymore, he will have the head down giving to the wire. MY SECRET BEACH (9) was looking to take them all the way last start when fading in the latter stages to hold on for the bronze. Placed in three of his past four, he is right in the fight.
SELECTIONS: BEACH ON FIRE (10), SHEZ GOT BLING (2), LANCELOT BROMAC (1), MY SECRET BEACH (9) SUGGESTED BET: BEACH ON FIRE (10) to win
RACE SIX
Despite a wide gate, JESEEKA (6) might just be able to lean on her class to overcome the alley. Resuming off a break at Menangle when down the line in slick time behind ILLAVABUBBLES, she was strong to the line here second up when beaten a half-neck. She can arrive here. CAPTAINS PICK (2) was sent out as the fav last start at Redcliffe and did not get the smoothest passage when midfield to LITTLELIONELJAMES. Trying to make ground off tempo the start prior behind JACCKA WALLY, he can be looking to throw down the challenge. JILLIBY JACKPOT (5) had the early hustle to find the poles last start before releasing and then finishing midfield to REGULUS. A tough run from the second line two back, he can feature. MIGHTY GEORGE (1) burrowed through from this gate to try to see it out over the mile in a qualifier last time when fading over the closing stages. Less early burn can see him feature.
SELECTIONS: JESEEKA (6), CAPTAINS PICK (2), JILLIBY JACKPOT (5), MIGHTY GEORGE (1) SUGGESTED BET: JESEEKA (6) to win
RACE SEVEN
A gritty winner here two starts back from the second line, SHEZ ALL STYLE (4) looks to find the right conditions to chase another victory here. Making a wide run last start when 6m from the winner, she was too strong for them last start and can press forward here to capitalise. RUBINI (8) was snookered on the poles last start and was searching for the gaps when under 6m from the winner FEELIN FLIRTY. Eased from gate 7 to search for the short way home the start prior and under 9m from SHEZA CRACKER, he can be probing for the gap to challenge. JUSTROLLINGAROUND (10) should appreciate a return to this grade after tackling a mare’s contest on Saturday when beaten by gate 7. Better luck can see her in the mix. SHEER ARTISTRY (2) resumes from a spell and will be giving away plenty of race experience here fresh up. A 2YO winner at her 5th start before being shut down, the gate helps her chances.
SELECTIONS: SHEZ ALL STYLE (4), RUBINI (8), JUSTROLLINGAROUND (10), SHEER ARTISTRY (2) SUGGESTED BET: SHEZ ALL STYLE (4) to win
RACE EIGHT
On the back up from Saturday night where he was able to get the job done, BOMBADIER JUJON (6) should appreciate a return to the veteran’s grade. A winner in this company four starts back when proving too strong, he can overcome the wide gate to chase his 20th career victory. COMMODORE JUJON (2) was going to be a minor chance here on Saturday night when striking trouble and galloping over the closing stages. Not that far from them two starts back when faced with the outside front line gate, he can make the most of this gate to issue a challenge. DESPONDENT (3) was buried in the run on Saturday night from the inside second line and was hitting the line when the gaps opened. With early speed, he can fire some early bullets here. OBI ONE (5) made full use of the passing lane last start when spearing through to claim the prize in this grade last week. Only a neck away two starts back, he can be joining in here.
SELECTIONS: BOMBADIER JUJON (6), COMMODORE JUJON (2), DESPONDENT (3), OBI ONE (5) SUGGESTED BET: BOMBADIER JUJON (6) to win
RACE NINE
Winning both return starts this season, CHECKNOUTTHETALENT (6) will be looking to make it three from three as a 3YO. Darting across to the poles last start, he was able to make use of the passing lane to score in a 3YO race last time. Despite an awkward gate, the threepeat is on. OUR INDIFFERENCE (8) will be lining up for his fifth start in Qld and will start from the inside second line alley for the fourth time. A beaten fav last start when striking trouble, he was eased off the inside two back to power over the top. Track and space are his biggest hurdles. FOUR STAR LINCOLN (7) found the front here two starts back and once in control was never in danger. A starting error ended any chance last start and the resulting ODM embargo hurts here. SHEZA CRACKER (2) showed the value of chasing rather than being chased when she was able to score here two starts back. Fading in a strong mare’s race last start, she can feature here.
SELECTIONS: CHECKNOUTTHETALENT (6), OUR INDIFFERENCE (8), FOUR STAR LINCOLN (7), SHEZA CRACKER (2) SUGGESTED BET: CHECKNOUTTHETALENT (6) to win
