Racing Queensland has today announced that Adam Wallish, Executive General Manager Operations, will retire in the coming months. Having joined the organisation in 2017, Mr Wallish has held a variety of roles, including Acting CEO, and will conclude his tenure on Friday, July 19. With responsibility for the three codes of racing – along with RQ’s tracks teams – the organisation will commence an immediate search for Mr Wallish’s replacement. “Adam’s contribution to racing, not just in Queensland but nationally, spans many decades and we wish him well in retirement,” RQ CEO Jason Scott said. “Since he has arrived at RQ, prize money has almost doubled, while catalytic infrastructure such as The Q has commenced or been completed. “It’s a critical role in our structure and we look forward to finding the right person to replace him.” After many decades involved in racing and sport, he said he was looking forward to continuing to support the industry as a spectator. “I couldn’t imagine a better industry to work in for so many years,” Mr Wallish said. “Racing is full of great people, and I’ll cherish the friendships I’ve made. Thanks to everyone at RQ for making the last part so enjoyable.”
