RACE ONE

ROYAL SPEECH (10) makes his first appearance in Qld after joining the Matt Elkins stable. Down the line at his last start in South Australia, he trialled in readiness for this with a sizzling hit out, stopping the clock in 1.51.3. Ife he can replicate that type of effort, this would be within reach.

LANAI (7) is afforded no favours from this alley, but his recent effort from the wide gates have been full of merit. Under 4m from the winner last start at Redcliffe from outside the front line in slick time, his win here four runs back was strong and he can be rattling late.

WESTERN ARTERRA (8) will be relying on a slice of luck at some stage from this gate to find clear space. Missing the money behind DUKE OF SCOTLAND two back, he will be probing.

TIGER BY THE TAIL (5) has struggled to convert his opportunities here at HQ as he lines up with unplaced efforts from his past three at Redcliffe. With some tough gates of late, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL SPEECH (10), LANAI (7), WESTERN ARTERRA (8), TIGER BY THE TAIL (5),
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL SPEECH (10) to win

RACE TWO

The barriers have not been kind to BEACHRIDE (2) since arriving in Qld, the latest when drawn gate 6 over the 13-furlongs where they were in single file early. Trying to make ground from the second line the start prior, he finds the right gate to stake his claim for victory.

DEFENCE ATTORNEY (6) showed the early hustle to take control last time and from the front was able to dictate to a narrow victory in smart time. Releasing the start prior and holding 3rd behind ALWAYS LOCKSLEY, the gate stings but he is can still throw down the challenge.

KERBANG (1) is going in search of a hat-trick after successive Redcliffe victories, the latest from the second line over the sprint trip. He has the early speed to chase the threepeat.

MOMENTUM SWING (8) was buried from gate 1 last start before finding the space to grab the silver behind MY ROCKY ROMANCE. He will be probing for the openings again here.

SELECTIONS: BEACHRIDE (2), DEFENCE ATTORNEY (6), KERBANG (1), MOMENTUM SWING (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BEACHRIDE (2) to win

RACE THREE

Chasing a hat-trick of wins, WHERE THE BOYS ARE (3) will need to take the next step up but is aided by the gate. Firing across from gate 5 on The Triangle last start to take them all the way, she darted through on the passing lane here two starts back. The threepeat is within reach.

MODERN SHEEN (9) was trying to work into the contest wide off the track last start when finishing midfield over this same trip. Pressing forward from gate 5 the start prior, she can get the right trail through in the early stages to issue a challenge.

WEONA SIR VIVOR (4) was beaten by the second line last start when working in the middle stages to get around them and sit parked. Runner-up three starts back, he has claims.

QUIK CHANGE (11) has had a mixed campaign since returning as a 3YO. Down the line last start in the South East Derby Consolation, the gate makes it a tough ask to recapture form.

SELECTIONS: WHERE THE BOYS ARE (3), MODERN SHEEN (9), WEONA SIR VIVOR (4), QUIK CHANGE (11)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

With the chance to make full use of the inside gate, DANIEL BOOM (1) can look to build on his conversion rate here at The Creek where he has struggled to put them away. A Redcliffe winner two starts back when working early, gate 6 and the 2040 was his undoing last start.

PLAYA BLANCA (8) was asked to roll the sleeves and grind it out last start at Redcliffe when holding on for the bronze behind SHEZ NOTORIOUS. With all her recent performances on The Triangle, she maps for the right trip to issue a challenge in this line up.

LAURIE DEE (3) was resuming from a spell two starts back when eased from gate 5 and from back in the pack, the task was too great behind DUKE OF SCOTLAND. Added fitness helps here.

THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (9) returns from close to 12 months off the scene, last sighted in a 3YO contest when under 6m from the winner FREE THINKER. Fitness is the query, her last trial on May 3.

SELECTIONS: DANIEL BOOM (1), PLAYA BLANCA (8), LAURIE DEE (3), MACH ASSASSIN (10)
SUGGESTED BET: DANIEL BOOM (1) to win

RACE FIVE

In what looks a wide-open contest, a return to the big deck for ENGLISH DANCE (1) might just be enough of a catalyst to find winning form. Tough gates in three runs back from a spell on The Triangle, he was midfield last start behind IM BOO. He lands the options to take his shot.

QUEENSLANDER (10) faced a wide second line gate last start over the middle trip when never really getting warm in the closing stages. Eased for position when tackling a qualifier two starts back, he can be making a closing play to stake a claim in this line up.

SHEREACTS (5) can do her share of work if required and from this awkward gate, can be pressing forward. Runner-up at Marburg two starts back, she can chime in.

CONVINCED (4) has been hitting good areas in recent starts, claiming a win three starts back when leading throughout and placed in both since. Settling handy, he can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: ENGLISH DANCE (1), QUEENSLANDER (10), SHEREACTS (5), CONVINCED (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Still chasing his first win here at The Creek, MACS A DUDE (4) has placed in three of his five attempts. Faced with a second line gate in his past two starts, he was making the closing raid last start when just a half-neck in arrears of the winner. He can find the margin in this.

HATTIES JEWEL (2) has some slick moves out of the machine and from this gate can be looking to find the poles. Breaking maiden ranks here four starts back, she has been freshened since her last start, with her past two from second line gates. She can throw it down from this alley.

WESTERN ACTION (8) found space and attacked the line strongly last start to arrive for a smart victory after starting from the second line. He needs a rub of the green at some stage in this.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (3) has placed at her past two starts, the latest when sliding forward from gate 5 to find position. She may need to do some heavy lifting to feature in this.

SELECTIONS: MACS A DUDE (4), HATTIES JEWEL (2), WESTERN ACTION (8), SHEZ ALL STYLE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MACS A DUDE (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

Finding the front from the wide gate last start, TRUMPYS LEGEND (6) was forced to work too hard in the early stages, which left him unable to put them away and fading late. A winner at his previous three in succession, limiting the early burn will be the key to staking a claim.

EMMALEEN (1) will be second up from a spell, following her last start 2nd at Redcliffe where she was working home wide off the track from outside the second line. Placed once in eight attempts here on the big deck, she has the gate to issue the challenge.

GINA DEL REY (3) has been runner-up in two of her three appearances here at HQ. Trying to burrow through from gate 1 two starts back, she was repelled and then beaten an eyelash.

BETTING STAR (2) took the trail last start from gate 1 at Redcliffe when just missing the money in a much tougher mare’s contest. Settling handy to the action can see her feature.

SELECTIONS: TRUMPYS LEGEND (6), EMMALEEN (1), GINA DEL REY (3), BETTING STAR (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TRUMPYS LEGEND (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

BRAEVIEW FELLA (3) will be third up from a spell following two runs back from a break which have been at Redcliffe. Sitting parked last start, he was working hard in the run when holding on for the silver, finishing under 2m from the winner. This looks within reach.

IDEAL DESIRE (8) was luckless from inside the second line here three starts back hen grabbing the bronze in a luckless effort. Tackling much tougher opposition when unplaced at her past two, she will be burrowing through and with an ounce of luck can throw it down.

OLLIE ONE SHOT (10) had placed in successive starts before finding the right conditions last start to take them all the way. The second line makes the repeat a tough ask.

MILLIEWOOD (6) is given no favours from this gate but has been hitting good areas in recent starts, with three minors and a victory in her past four. She has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: BRAEVIEW FELLA (3), IDEAL DESIRE (8), OLLIE ONE SHOT (10), MILLIEWOOD (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BRAEVIEW FELLA (3) to win

RACE NINE

CHARLIE CHUCKLES (3) overcame the second line to score at Marburg back in May and he has been unable to capitalise since. Sent out in red figures from gate 1 two starts back, he was crossed and had to settle for a midfield finish. He might have found a winnable contest.

MY ULTIMATE RUDI (8) cashed in at Marburg las start, working home in good style from wide on the track to take the prize. A three-time winner her at HQ, he will be tucked away at some stage and be relying on some factors to fall his way to stake a claim.

SPORTS BOUNTY (4) was out of the pack and issuing a closing challenge when runner-up last start, finishing just a neck from the winner. Positioning cheaply will be the key to his chances.

RIVER ROCK (5) was runner-up here three starts back when pressing forward early to find a handy spot. With the right trip, she can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: CHARLIE CHUCKLES (3), MY ULTIMATE RUDI (8), SPORTS BOUNTY (4), RIVER ROCK (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CHARLIE CHUCKLES (3) to win

RACE TEN

3YO gelding WHATA LEGACY (5) was runner-up here three starts back when finishing strongly from the second line after being sent out as the fav. Grabbing 2nd, wide gates have dented his hopes in both subsequent runs, but he finds the conditions to stake a claim here.

THE TORQUE EFFECT (1) is a 2YO tackling this mixed age contest that should take benefit from her last start where she was seven weeks between runs. Breaking maiden ranks two starts back, she has the favours and options from the gate to capitalise.

GRUBSCREW (8) was a winner at Redcliffe three starts back and has placed in both since. Fresh up here after a six-week gap between appearances, he will be looking for short cuts.

TRAVELNFEELIN (6) was able to breakthrough for victory at his second start when doing it the tough way from outside the leader. The wide gate makes it a tough ask.

SELECTIONS: WHATA LEGACY (5), THE TORQUE EFFECT (1), GRUBSCREW (8), TRAVELNFEELIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET:
