RACE ONE

With the carnival completed, Jason Grimson will step out three high class performers fresh up, the first of those being CYA ART (3). Last seen in the Cranbourne Cup in Feb when down the line behind LEAP TO FAME, it followed a similar margin in the Hunter Cup. He should have the class.

TARGARYEN (4) is flying but just cannot get the right set up or conditions to convert the efforts to victory. Attacking the line last week when 3rd behind DON HUGO, the start prior he struck trouble in the run. Positioning cheaply will be key to his chances of throwing down a challenge.

MYMATEPOG (9) did some early work before receiving cover and holding on for the bronze two starts back behind TEDDY DISCO, beaten 3m. With the right trail, he is a place player.

TEDDY DISCO (5) was large in victory last start when rolling forward to sit parked and grinding out a tough first over win. He can get forward to feature again.

SELECTIONS: CYA ART (3), TARGARYEN (4), MYMATEPOG (9), TEDDY DISCO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CYA ART (3) to wina

RACE TWO

SURE THING CAPTAIN (12) is given no favours from the wide gate, but with the right tempo, he can be looking to power home over the top. In an interrupted campaign, his run two back was a big effort and last start in the 4YO Champs, the run was full of merit. He is up to the task.

MAJOR MOTH (3) is the intriguing runner, arriving in Qld with the Grimson stable, his last appearance back in December in Tasmania when a beaten fav from the standing start. Now a 6YO, he is a former G1 winner that was sound in a recent trial. He finds the right contest fresh.

THROWYOURARMSAROUNDME (10) put the writing on the wall with a sizzling close out two starts back and turned that into victory here on Tuesday. He can be chiming in.

KICKATINALONGPONY (1) was only 6m away here on Tuesday but never had a clean shot at them. The gate gives him the podium claims.

SELECTIONS: SURE THING CAPTAIN (12), MAJOR MOTH (3), THROWYOURARMSAROUNDME (10), KICKATINALONGPONY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SURE THING CAPTAIN (12) to win

RACE THREE

The outside gate should be no concern for EYE KEEP SMILING (7) who will be looking to enhance her record on this deck that shows four from six. A last start winner of the G1 Golden Girl, her run in defeat the start prior was huge and she should have few problems cashing in.

LADY DIGBY (1) attacked the line strongly here three starts back when just a neck from the winner SWEET AGENDA. Faced with unsuitable gates in recent outings, she finds the perfect gate for her pattern and can look for a podium return.

MISS MUCHO (6) was asked to sit parked here on Tuesday in veterans company where she was 7m from the winner after the tough trip. Runner-up to KINGMAKER two back, she has claims.

GIRL FROM OZ (2) was buried in the run last start and made some nice metres in the latter stages behind TAY TAY. With he early speed to chase the poles, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: EYE KEEP SMILING (7), LADY DIGBY (1), MISS MUCHO (6), GIRL FROM OZ (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 7 / 1-2-6 / 1-2-3-6-9

RACE FOUR

Tackling the Blacks A Fake Consolation last start, DEUS EX (1) was shuffled back in the run and then just found the trip out of reach when midfield to DON HUGO. Back to the mile and with all the options form the ace, he gets the chance to bounce back into form.

SEND IT (2) faced gate 7 in the same race last week and failed to complete the course when locking wheels on the home bend when trying to track into the contest. Not suited when parked the start prior, he can get to the poles first with just the front line runners.

CURLY JAMES (3) joins the Grimson team and trucks up from Victoria via Menangle where he trialled for the new team. Last seen behind CAPTAIN HAMMERHEAD, he stays under notice.

BLACKSADANCE (6) was shuffled out of play in the Blacks A Fake after working across to lead at one stage. A return to the mile suits and despite the wide gate, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: DEUS EX (1), SEND IT (2), CURLY JAMES (3), BLACKSADANCE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DEUS EX (1) to win

RACE FIVE

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (2) CASHED IN ON The Triangle last start when making the most of gate 1 to take them all the way. Strong to the line the start prior behind NOVANTA RISING, he has the gate to get handy and finds the right conditions to capitalise.

KICK THE SWITCH (3) has found the better 3YOs out of reach in his past four starts, the latest when making a costly error to finish down the line behind ROYAL CRUISER. Back to this grade, he can settle near the action and throw it down.

BUSHY BEACH (9) was sent out as the fav in his first appearance for the new stable when wide off the track and chasing. Cashing in on the front-end last start, he can be thereabouts.

FORCE FULL (7) is afforded no favours from this alley, the same gate he faced last week when chasing behind ROYAL CRUISER in the Derby Consolation. He is a podium chance in this.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (2), KICK THE SWITCH (3), BUSHY BEACH (9), FORCE FULL (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

An even looking mare’s contest where IM DESIRABLE (5) can look to follow up her Redcliffe victory form two starts back. Buried in that and finishing best to claim a half-neck margin, she was beaten by gate 7 here last start, in a flashing light run.

SNOW HUNTER (6) claimed a mare’s qualifier four runs back when pressing to the front from gate 5 and fighting them off to score. Placed at her past two runs after missing all of June, she was just 2m away last start and will throw down the challenge here.

MADRIGAL (2) backs up from Tues where she was beaten by the second line gate when too far back to get into the contest. Back to mare’s company from this gate, she can feature.

MAHINDI (3) tried to see them off from the front last start at Redcliffe when setting a strong tempo and only collared in the last strides. She has claims again here.

SELECTIONS: IM DESIRABLE (5), SNOW HUNTER (6), MADRIGAL (2), MAHINDI (3)
SUGGESTED BET: IM DESIRABLE (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Firm in the market despite being faced with gate 7 in last week’s Derby, KINGMAN (8) moved up to get to the breeze and then ended his chances with a gait break, drifting back through the field. A tough 2nd to BAY OF BISCAY at Melton the start prior, he has the options to cash in.

IRON CLAD (1) was snookered in the Derby and then carted back through the pack when SOHO SPECTRE succumbed to an issue. 9m away and facing a similar traffic issue the start prior behind DUKE OF SCOTLAND, he has the gate and line up to issue the challenge.

NOVANTA RISING (6) was a starchy winner in strong time in the midweeks here two starts back, holding them off for a neck margin. Striking trouble in the Derby Consolation, he can feature.

IN EXCESS (7) put together a threepeat of victories in claiming the South East Derby two starts back before a tough gate ended his Qld Derby prospects. Another tough gate stings in this.

SELECTIONS: KINGMAN (8), IRON CLAD (1), NOVANTA RISING (6), IN EXCESS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KINGMAN (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

It will be a wonderful training performance if COVER GIRL (10) is able to overcome the second line, as she steps put for her first race in over 12 months. Last seen back in May of 2023 when 3rd to TIN TIN JO, she sizzled in a recent Redclfife trial and can cash in fresh.

JEWEL MELODY (7) was a beaten fav here two starts back when angling off the inside into the running line and finishing 10m from AMERICAN SPIRIT. On the biggest winless streak of her wonderful career, a return to mare’s in this grade can see her turn it around.

DELILIAH ROSE (1) has the benefit of the inside gate and has the option to get the soft trip in behind the action. From there, she is a podium player.

SOAP OPERA (9) tackles the older mares off the back of a last start 2nd when using the passing lane. With the right trip, she is a podium player.

SELECTIONS: COVER GIRL (10), JEWEL MELODY (7), DELILIAH ROSE (1), SOAP OPERA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: COVER GIRL (10) to win

RACE NINE

Weaving a passage in the closing stages last week, ADELLE (6) was attacking the line strongly to finish just a half-head from the winner LONDON TO A BRICK. The start prior, she could have been closer with a smoother trip behind GUS and she finds conditions to capitalise here.

MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (1) was in front here on Tuesday and was looking comfortable but threw his chances away when going off stride. Chasing a hat-trick of victories in that outing, he can look to make the most of the inside gate and bounce back with vengeance.

MAJESTIC LAVROS (5) was second up from a spell when facing the second line in the Qld Cup. Strong to the line in the closing stages when midfield, he should appreciate this line up.

DEFENSIVE GUY (7) was sectionally sound here last week and three back was best of the rest when runner-up to GUS in the DJA Final. The gate dents his hopes.

SELECTIONS: ADELLE (6), MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (1), MAJESTIC LAVROS (5), DEFENSIVE GUY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ADELLE (6) to win

RACE TEN

Claiming the APG Sales Final last start, HUNGER STRIKE (2) lands the gate advantage over the main danger and can look to make the most of the opportunity. Game in victory in the heats of that series, she looks a progressive filly that can capitalise from the gate.

OUR SWEET DELIGHT (4) has won two of his four career starts, the latest when pressing top the front and fighting them off to claim the Breeders Classic. Sent for a break following that victory, he has been back to the trials with a smart hit out and the small field aids his chances.

IMXTRASPECIAL (1) made the most of the inside gate to lead throughout at Redcliffe last start, posting a 2m margin. Tucking in behind the speed, he is a place hope.

SELECTIONS: HUNGER STRIKE (2), OUR SWEET DELIGHT (4), IMXTRASPECIAL (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
