RACE ONE

A beaten fav last start when under 8m from the winner, HAMMER SON (7) was trying to get warm over the latter stages last start when just missing the minor money. Runner-up in both prior starts which followed four successive victories, this looks within his reach.

BANFF (8) has placed at his past three in succession, the latest from the 1x1 trail when 6m from PHOENIX RED. That was from the 40m tape and had followed a Sat night 3rd when off the front tape. He can be closing out again here.

MY RUMOUR HAS IT (2) will be backing up from a tough Saturday night event and will appreciate the front-line conditions in this grade to show her early manners.

IGNITE (4) failed to finish the course last start following a wheel issue. Midfield the start prior, he has struggled to get near his best but finds the conditions here to be an improver.

SELECTIONS: HAMMER SON (7), BANFF (8), MY RUMOUR HAS IT (2), IGNITE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HAMMER SON (7) to win

RACE TWO

Off the back of a smart 3rd when under 5m from the winner in the Springboard Final, PHOENIX RED (11) was too tough for them last start where he was able to sit parked and see them off for a narrow victory. This will be tougher off the 20m, but he looks more than handy.

GRACIAS (12) finally trotted throughout here last time out, and it made all the difference as he finished over the top to post a 7m margin. Taking benefit and fitness, he will be wide at some point looking to make her raid.

SNOWVANDOVA (2) was safely away last time and was looking to fight them off when holding on for the silver behind GRACIAS. A similar start can see her in the mix.

MIRA SATURN (1) will take good benefit and confidence from her return to the track here last week when tracking home to finish midfield. She can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: PHOENIX RED (11), GRACIAS (12), SNOWVANDOVA (2), MIRA SATURN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PHOENIX RED (11) to win

RACE THREE

GEM PUNTER PETE (6) was eased into the running line from gate 5 last start before trying to make a wide run, attacking the line to be just 2m from the winner LEITHEN BURN. Despite a wide gate, he looks to have found the chance for a breakthrough.

FRANCO MACHO (2) fired out here last Thursday when trying to take them all the way. Gunned down in the stretch by the three-year-old TEDDY TURPIN, he finds the right gate to get handy and go from there.

CAPTIVANTE (3) made the most of an improved gate last start, taking control early and posting an effortless 7m margin. Tough gates were a theme before her latest outing.

CONVINCED (4) will be backing up from a rare Saturday night performance and will be looking to use his early hustle for this battle to get position.

SELECTIONS: GEM PUNTER PETE (6), FRANCO MACHO (2), CAPTIVANTE (3), CONVINCED (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GEM PUNTER PETE (6) to win

RACE FOUR

WHATA LEGACY (4) was runner-up here two starts back when finding the 1x1 trail and fishing 4m from the winner OUR ULTIMATE QUEEN. Taken back from gate 6 last start and then facing a task from deep field, he can get handy and finds the right set up to capitalise.

BLISSFULL IDENTITY (6) has placed in one of his two appearances here on the big deck, that performance two starts back when working home in good style for the silver over the 2138. Fading after a tough trip at Redcliffe last time out, he can look to throw it down here.

ZED EXPRESS (1) sat in the pocket trail at Marburg last start when holding on for a silver. Still chasing a first win of 2024, he comes up with the ideal alley to turn it around.

HATTIES JEWEL (8) was trying to see it out over the middle trip last start but was collared in the latter stages when holding on for the silver. Back to the mile is a plus.

SELECTIONS: WHATA LEGACY (4), BLISSFULL IDENTITY (6), ZED EXPRESS (1), HATTIES JEWEL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WHATA LEGACY (4) to win

RACE FIVE

Following three runs back from a spell, conditions look right for BLUE BLOODZ (4) to grab another victory here. Strong to the line when second up and finishing with the bronze, last start the 2138 which is not really his best, saw him midfield. This looks within reach.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (3) was locked away three back from the inside second line last time out and was not suited by the tempo against tougher opposition. A wide gate stung the start prior and if he can position cheaply in this line up, can challenge.

THE COOKIE MONSTER (9) had finished at the tail in three successive starts before turning it around last time at the middle trip when descending on them to score. This is a stronger test.

SPORTS BOUNTY (1) claimed a Redcliffe victory three starts back from the pocket trail and followed that with a tidy 3rd here at this trip. Tucked in behind, he can make a closing raid.

SELECTIONS: BLUE BLOODZ (4), BRAEVIEW FELLA (3), THE COOKIE MONSTER (9), SPORTS BOUNTY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BLUE BLOODZ (4) to win

RACE SIX

following three runs back from a spell, the improved gate and likely positioning for WHATA ROLLER (2) can see him open his latest campaign. Showing early hustle and left exposed early last start, he was not too far from the winner CONGO LINE. He can cash in.

COPPERFIELD (9) was a winner here three starts back when overcoming the outside front-line gate and charging home to score. Runner-up in both subsequent starts, the latest behind CLASSIE WASHINGTON, he can be following through early, looking to challenge late.

ESCOBAR (5) worked in the run at Redcliffe two starts back and was fighting over the closing stages for the bronze after being sent out as the fav. Under 5m away last start, he has claims.

LAURIE DEE (1) struck trouble last time out when finishing at the tail of the field. Tempo prevented him eating into the deficit the start prior and improved gate is a huge plus.

SELECTIONS: WHATA ROLLER (2), COPPERFIELD (9), ESCOBAR (5), LAURIE DEE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-9 / 1-2-5-8-9 / 1-2-5-8-9

RACE SEVEN

COMMODORE JUJON (1)
was making some late metres last time out when finishing 4m astern of the winner FIRESTROM RED. Unable to make an impact from back in the pack the start prior behind TAIRLAW TOLL, he finds the spot close to the action to capitalise.

ALTA EQUUS (8) will be sweating on the one holding the front and looking to dictate, and under that scenario would be awaiting the passing lane to strike. Collared in the closing stages two starts back, he was making a closing raid last time when 3m from the winner.

FIRESTORM RED (10) settled near the rear last start and when set free was finishing hard to arrive in the closing stages for the prize. With a similar trip, he can chase a similar result.

KINGMAKER (6) backs up from Saturday night where he tackles a strong contest and should find this more to his liking. A winner in this grade five runs back when rattling late, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: COMMODORE JUJON (1), ALTA EQUUS (8), FIRESTORM RED (10), KINGMAKER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: COMMODORE JUJON (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

A winner here three starts back in impressive fashion when doing it tough in the run, IRON CLAD (6) has been runner-up in both starts since. Pressing to the front last start, he set a sub 55 closing 800 but was worried out of it by THE JANITOR. He can bounce back here.

LEITHEN BURN (10) was rewarded for his consistency here last time out when arriving in a blanket finish to claim a half-head margin. IN the money at six of his previous seven, he can follow through for position and look to issue the closing challenge once again.

B MAC C (3) can look to fire off the arm from this gate and opting for the tag and release, can then be tucked in behind and awaiting the gaps to make a play.

MIKIBEQUICK (4) showed some early hustle here two starts back when 3rd behind SHES FULLOFSPIRIT and last start was making strong metres for the silver. He can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: IRON CLAD (6), LEITHEN BURN (10), B MAC C (3), MIKIBEQUICK (4)
SUGGESTED BET: IRON CLAD (6) to win
