Racing Queensland provides the following update regarding the Sunshine Coast Turf Club meeting scheduled for Friday, November 22.

Following continued heavy rainfall this week, the Corbould Park track was inspected this morning.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 10, and is considered suitable for racing at present if there is no significant rainfall over the next 24 hours.

RQ and SCTC have however developed a contingency should the meeting not proceed. A back-up meeting has been programmed on the venue’s Polytrack if required.

  • The current race meeting on the course proper will be given every possibe opportunity to proceed, with a track inspection scheduled for 6am Friday morning;
  • The back-up meeting will only take place if the course proper is deemed unsuitable for racing after tomorrow morning’s track inspection;
  • No withdrawal fees applicable if the Polytrack meeting does not ultimately proceed;
  • Whether a Polytrack meeting proceeds will be determined by RQ based on acceptance numbers received tomorrow morning.
  • If RQ considers them insufficient for the meeting to proceed, then there will not be a Sunshine Coast race meeting tomorrow; and
  • If the Course Proper is considered suitable for racing on tomorrow morning, but the weather deteriorates after that time and prior to the race meeting’s commencement, there will be no race meeting at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club tomorrow.
