RACE ONE Hitting the board at all six starts this term, LUVBITE (2) has the gate to be prominent once again. Covering plenty of the oval last start and still holding on for the bronze where he was under 4m from the winner, he can force the issue early and look to take them all the way. MY ROCKY ROMANCE (9) was sent forward and asked to sit parked last start when finishing a game 5m away from the dictating winner. Beaten an eyelash the start prior, three back he attacked the line strong and can be making a closing raid once again here to challenge. CHEER LEADER (6) eased from a wide gate last start and with all the power up the front was always facing a task to get into the contest. This is tough again, but she can be joining in. NURBURGRING (1) made some nice metres int eh closing stages last start and should appreciate the soft trip in behind the speed here. SELECTIONS: LUVBITE (2), MY ROCKY ROMANCE (9), CHEER LEADER (6), NURBURGRING (1) SUGGESTED BET: LUVBITE (2) to win
RACE TWO
Not much has been in the favour of BETTING ORIGIN (9) in recent starts, beaten by the outside front line last time and snookered from the inside second line the start prior. A smart Redcliffe winner in good time three back, he can follow through early and make start 100 memorable. RISK TAKER (3) has hit the board in his past four which includes a win two starts back when descending in the stretch to score. Trying to see it out last start when nailed on the wire by MOORS, he has the gate to throw down the challenge. BORSELLINO (1) has been hitting good areas in recent attempts, the latest when strong to the line wide off the track after starting from outside the second line. He will be probing. JACCKA WALLY (4) has been runner-up at his past two starts, the latest when trying to fend them off and finishing just a neck from the winner. He will be gripping on again here.
SELECTIONS: BETTING ORIGIN (9), RISK TAKER (3), BORSELLINO (1), JACCKA WALLY (4), SUGGESTED BET: BETTING ORIGIN (9) win
RACE THREE
A tricky one to dissect, with the map looking a muddling set up. CONGO LINE (1) loves a soft trip behind the speed and is an effective passing lane player and if he can secure the right trip to hit the lane with momentum, this is within reach. MOSSDALE TERRY (8) knows how to run a minor but has struggled to convert it into a W. Placed his past seven in succession, he has been kept fresh since a last start 2nd when hitting the line in nice order behind the flying CALLING BUDDY. He will be probing for space from this gate. MOMENTUM SWING (9) forced the issue last start to work to the front and once in control was able to take a 3m margin. Strong to the line the start prior, he is in the mix again here. WATERMELON SUGAR (5) chased home in the small field for the bronze behind HIRANYA last start when second up from a spell. With added fitness, he can be thereabouts again.
SELECTIONS: CONGO LINE (1), MOSSDALE TERRY (8), MOMENTUM SWING (9), WATERMELON SUGAR (5) SUGGESTED BET: CONGO LINE (1) win/place
RACE FOUR
Scintillating when returning from a spell a fortnight back, FOR REAL LIFE (7) was allowed to balance before revving up to take control. Running the quickest last 800 seen in front here at HQ with the demolition, he will look to convert that form to the middle trip. CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (10) was never in danger last start after holding them wide and then able to steal a 61.6 opening half. Claiming a 2m margin, that made it four wins in his past five stats, the only blemish a 2nd behind LEAP TO FAME where he was 15m clear of the third horse. TURN IT UP (3) returns from a spell and can put the left-hand blinker on to get across them. Which horse offers cover will be the query, but he can probe late for some minor money. BRAEDOS LAD (4) has been consistent over an extended period, including successive placings at the mile. He may need to do some work but will grind it out.
SELECTIONS: FOR REAL LIFE (7), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (10), TURN IT UP (3), BRAEDOS LAD (4) SUGGESTED BET: FOR REAL LIFE (7) to win
RACE FIVE
Starting fav here last week but beaten by the tempo after retreating from a wide gate, ALLNIGHT DANCER (1) secures the improved alley to reverse the fortunes. Strong to the line when a half-head away two starts back, she can look to capitalise. THE VIXEN (8) was sent forward to sit parked last start and following the tough trip was out of tokens turning for home and her run ended. Second up from a let up in that run, she will strip fitter and comes up with the economical trip here to issue a challenge. PET KITTY (6) was chasing a hat-trick here on Tuesday when striking a tough assignment where JAMAICAN ROCK dictated in front. Despite the wide gate, back to mare’s only is a plus. BETTING JEWEL (5) has been sectionally impressive in recent starts without landing a breakthrough. Buried away before hitting the line strongly last week, she can join in late.
SELECTIONS: ALLNIGHT DANCER (1), THE VIXEN (8), PET KITTY (6), BETTING JEWEL (5) SUGGESTED BET: ALLNIGHT DANCER (1) to win
RACE SIX She may have landed the car park gate, however SWEET AGENDA (7) might just have the edge to defy her opponents. Descending on them for a smart last to first win two starts back, she held 3rd in the FFA mare’s race last start after finding the poles early. This looks within reach. HOUSTON STREET (3) was able to amble to the front here last start in a qualifier and once in control was never in danger when posting a 7m margin. Strong to the line in putting the opposition away, she can press forward to be handy again and will throw it down. BONNIES DANCE (6) is never too far away in this grade and lines up after placing in successive starts, the latest when 3m from MOMENTUM SWING. Back to mares is a bonus. AURORA JOY (2) was too far back against the tempo last start as THESUNANDTHEMOON dictated in front. Holding a running line position from this gate will assist her podium hopes.
SELECTIONS: SWEET AGENDA (7), HOUSTON STREET (3), BONNIES DANCE (6), AURORA JOY (2) SUGGESTED BET: SWEET AGENDA (7) to win
RACE SEVEN Will it be that FATE AWAITS (7) in the NSW Derby? Returning to start his 3YO campaign without the benefit of a public trail, the Dixon trained colt ended his 2YO term wit victory in the G1 NSW Breeders Challenge. With five wins in his first season of racing, he can defy the gate fresh. PATH TO GREATNESS (6) returns like his stable mate without a public trial in readiness and will also be on a NSW Derby path. Only beaten a half-neck two starts back in a NSW Breeders semifinal, he won four of six and can look to challenge. OUR SWEET DELIGHT (5) was a three-time winner as a 2YO and trialled in smart order in readiness for the first up assignment. The early barrier advantage over the two big guns is a plus. FRENCH FRIES (1) eased off the arm last start before rattling late to claim a 6m margin. That was his first run since the Triad Fial in August and he should improve off the outing.
SELECTIONS: FATE AWAITS (7), PATH TO GREATNESS (6), OUR SWEET DELIGHT (5), FRENCH FRIES (1) SUGGESTED BET: FATE AWAITS (7) to win
RACE EIGHT Chasing a hat-trick of victories after slick wins at Redcliffe and then here, KELLOSHIEL (6) will need to defy the wide gate. Power running to victory in both wins, she is a free wheeler that will be pressing on and be looking to grip on in the stretch. FIREBOLT (9) has hot the board at her past four in succession, the latest when trying to fight them off and holding on for the bronze behind RISK TAKER. Only a half-head from the winner ZOOM PARTY two starts back, she can slide trough early to make a late challenge. FILLY THIRTEEN (1) has enough early speed out of the machine to dictate her position. Taking the trail on HOUSTON STREET and holding 3rd here last week, the gate helps once again. KYLOAN QUEEN (7) is afforded no favours from the outside paint, a gate she takes owing to her last appearance when making a starting error. Taking them all the way two back, she has claims.
SELECTIONS: KELLOSHIEL (6), FIREBOLT (9), FILLY THIRTEEN (1), KYLOAN QUEEN (7) SUGGESTED BET: KELLOSHIEL (6) to win
RACE NINE If last week was an indicator of how NOT AS PROMISED (6) would measure up to open trotting company, then he may have exceeded expectations. Forced to work hard from the outside gate, he put the power on, put the track record holder to sleep at the 400 and held the margin in a big win. GOLDEN SUNSET (3) looks the best placed to turn over NOT AS PROMISED, with this mare firmly in the zone at present. With four wins from her past six, she has only been a half-neck from the winner in each of the other two outings. Large and in charge in front here on Tuesday, she will throw it down. GEE CEE CALDER (1) was just behind the minor money again here last start and should be tucked away for another economical trip here. TOP OF THE MOMENT (7) is super consistent and last start showed early hustle off the arm before being carted back by a tiring leader in a luckless 3rd. He is never far away. SELECTIONS: NOT AS PROMISED (6), GOLDEN SUNSET (3), GEE CEE CALDER (1), TOP OF THE MOMENT (7) SUGGESTED BET: NOT AS PROMISED (6) to win
RACE TEN If second up syndrome can be identified as plausible, there is every chance that SHEZA CHANCE (5) was a victim of it last start. Resuming from a long spell with an impressive first up victory that included a smart last 800, she was unable to repeat it second up. Look for the bounce back. SON OF A SUN (7) was able to capitalise last start and overturned the favourite SHEZA CHANCE when showing early hustle from this same gate to find the 1x1 trail. A repeat of that performance can see him throw down the challenge. ITSALLANDOVER (4) made a rare error here on Tuesday after being locked away three back on the inside. Placed both prior outings with some smart close outs, he finds a winnable race. GRACIAS (6) has shown steady improvement in his three runs since returning from a spell. Wide off the track last start from a wide second line gate, the smaller field aids his chances. SELECTIONS: SHEZA CHANCE (5), SON OF A SUN (7), ITSALLANDOVER (4), GRACIAS (6) SUGGESTED BET: SHEZA CHANCE (5) to win
