Gardiner Race 1: EMERSONS BUS COMPANY CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M PUB THUG – Dislodged its rider whilst parading behind the barriers and escaped off course. Was declared late scratching at 1.08pm. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on PUB THUG were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 36 cents on the face value of all win and 30 cents on the value of all place bets to be applicable. Rider N. Yadi declared himself free of injury to fulfil his further engagements on the day. PUB THUG was recaptured and examined by the veterinary surgeon which revealed minor skin lacerations to its legs. AESOP – Bumped by another runner and lost ground. GRACIOUS FURI – Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped another runner. FLINCH – Slow to begin. Hung out for the majority of the race. Race 2: PEANUT CO AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1100M STANDFORD – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Improved onto heels near the 1000m and was steadied. Bumped on the hind quarters a number of times near 250m and shifted out inconveniencing another runner. STIEG – Raced in restricted room leaving the 300m and shifted in bumping another runner a number of times near the 250m and was restrained. BLOUKRANS – Raced in restricted room near the 250m and shifted in bumping another runner. HERE TO DASH – Shifted in slightly near the 250m bumping another runner. BUSH VERSION – Over-raced in the early stages of the race. OUR KAPOW – Shifted out on jumping bumping another runner. Race 3: JOHN COLE TOYOTA MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M WICKED MISTRESS – Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the early stages of the race. ROGUE ALLEY – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 4: JT HOOFTRIMMING & HORSE CARE MM/FNQ U&C STAYERS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1400M HUMPTY BUMPTY – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. RED SHAWL – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the race. CUT ‘N’ POLISH – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today when the gelding led which is against its normal racing pattern, rider A. Thomson stated that after the horse began well, and although she was given no specific instructions, due the lack of early pace she allowed the gelding to assume the lead where it travelled comfortably. Her explanation was noted. CASHED UP BULLY – Raced ungenerously in the early stages of the race. MINGALARBA – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. PINK STILETTO – Raced 3 wide in the early and stages of the race without cover. Bumped heavily with another runner near the 300m. KISSER – Bumped heavily with another runner near the 300m.
