From Doomben, 6.1.15
On 19 February 2015, Bookmaker Mr O. Bradley was fined $300 under AR.18(1)(a) in that he failed to bet on each and every race at Doomben on 6 December 2014 as a result of leaving the course without permission whilst the meeting still had a number of races to be completed.

Race 1: Sky Racing QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1050m
ONE MORE MAGIC – Slow to begin. Rider J. Taylor reported at scale his mount raced greenly throughout.
SECRET SAGA – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up from the 500m until shortly after entering the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
TURN UP THE VOLUME – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
MILITARY MISS – Tightened for room shortly after the start between runners.
ST REMY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
PICAVINO – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Lost its off hind plate in running.
Race 2: Brazilian Beauty Open H'cap – 2220m
SECRET GARDEN – Connections advised it would race without bar plates due to the soft track.
PERPLEXITY – Rider R. Wiggins reported at scale that his mount raced flat today and could offer no other excuse for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
WORLD SERIES – A post race veterinary examination of the horse which finished a distant last, revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG must be produced, and the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
Race 3: Southern Sheet and Coil Benchmark 85 H'cap – 1640m
Stablehand for trainer Mr F. Adams, Ms S. Smith was fined $200 for improper conduct in the horse stall area when attending Home To The Bride after the gelding became unruly.
HOME TO THE BRIDE – Restless in the tie-up stalls. The horse underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
ANYMORE – Bumped on several occasions shortly after the start. Overraced in the middle stages.
MARKOUT – Bumped on several occasions shortly after the start.
KISS ME DEADLY – Raced wide leaving the 800m.
BILLY GOAT – Raced wide leaving the 800m.
SPECIFIC CHOICE – Rider M. McGillivray reported at scale his mount did not quicken when placed under pressure after leaving the 600m.
TRAKSTAR – Held up rounding the home turn and did not obtain clear running until near the 200m.
Race 4: Byron Spurling’s Last Stand Open H'cap – 1050m
LUCKY METEOR – Sprawled badly on jumping away and lost ground, and then raced wide throughout without cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near hindleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.
Race 5: Silky Smooth And Speedy QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1350m
GLORIOUS RED – Slow to begin.
DUCHESS MOLLY – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
GAME OF FAME – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
GOLDIES IMAGE – Steadied from the heels of another runner approaching the first turn. Steadied from the heels of a tiring runner approaching the 400m. Steadied from heels of another runner, which shifted out near the 300m.
PUNTA NORTE – Steadied from heels after leaving the 900m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have been galloped on on the off fore and near hind leg.
TRUBIA – Rider J. Byrne reported at scale that, in his opinion, his mount did not handle the track conditions today.
TOP TONE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
THE MONK – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
ITALIAN STORM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
HAZARD BAY – Rider B. Stewart reported his mount had to work hard from the wide barrier to obtain a position in the early stages, however was under pressure after leaving the 600m. He could offer no further excuse for the performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
Race 6: Novotel Brisbane Airport Girls On Track Open F&M H'cap – Final – 1350m
ROYAL CONSORT – Slow to begin.
DEVIL MISS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
LOVE SHUTTLE – Rider J. Lloyd was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages causing another runner to be steadied. Trainer T. Edmonds was questioned regarding the improved performance. He stated, in his opinion, the mare did not handle the patchy track at Ipswich at its previous start, and also that he believed the step up in distance from 1200m to 1350m may have benefitted the mare. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from its off-side nostril. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that the mare would be required to complete a 1000m gallop before stewards prior to its next race start.
TORNADO MISS – Obliged to steady away from the heels of another runner approaching the winning post.
SILVER TRINKET – Lost its near hind plate in running.
Race 7: Canadian Club Open H'cap – 1350m
TAIL AND ALL – Connections advised if the horse begins well it will be ridden in a forward position. The horse settled outside the leader.
SIR MOMENTS – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey A.Holt was questioned regarding his riding of the horse in the middle stages. He stated he had been instructed to settle the gelding back in the field and he attempted to find cover after leaving the 800m trailing WAR ENDS, however when that gelding did not improve quickly into the race he was obliged to shift wider on the track and, in his opinion, SIR MOMENTS peaked on its run after leaving the 200m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities, and a swab sample was taken.
GULLY COMMAND – Had to be restrained from heels near the 600m. Jockey T. Bell was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted in the early stages. He stated that it was always his intention to race in a forward position either outside the leader or with a trail behind the leaders, however after beginning reasonably well, he was unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result he eased to took a trailing position. The explanation was noted.
Race 8: Hamilton Hotel Benchmark 80 H'cap – 1200m
MAC’S ADDICTION – Slow to begin.
LAUTERBRUNNEN – Jumped away awkwardly.
GUN CASE - Rider G. Colless reported his mount was agitated in the barriers and also did not handle the first turn and became unbalanced. Trainer L.Birchley advised it was his intention to spell the horse after its disappointing performance today, adding that it would now be gelded. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
