Race 1: Coca Coal RQ Summer Provincial Series Final NMW – 1400m

D’HARMONY – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied from heels approaching the 1100m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any lameness, however the gelding was stepping short in the off foreleg.

RISE TO FAME – Tightened for room on jumping away.

CORNROW – Knuckled on jumping away. Hampered near 1100m.

HEARTBREAK HARRY – Apprentice J. Oliver pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1100m he allowed his mount to shift in when not fully clear of CORNROW, which was taken in on to RELAMPAGO, which was in turn taken in on to CAMOUFLAGE, which had to be eased by its rider and shift in, resulting in FRENCH HUSSLER being checked. Apprentice Oliver was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 12 days, to commence at midnight, 31 December and to expire at midnight, 12 January 2017.

FRENCH HUSSLER – Checked near 1100m.

CAMOUFLAGE – Checked near 1100m.

OUTSTRIP – Checked near 1100m. Held up in the early stages of the home straight and then had to be checked off heels near the 200m when taken in by another runner.

RELAMPAGO – Hampered at 1100m.

MANDRYKA – Raced wide without cover.


Race 2: Sky Racing Shoot Out Quality H’cap – 2200m

FELTRE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the start and cleared to race.

EMPHASIS – Steadied when tightened for room passing the winning post on the first occasion.

ANNAMAN – Tightened for room when tiring after leaving the 200m and then shifted out across heels.

ROCK ON IVY – Held up in the straight until the 200m.


Race 3: Gopher Coffee Falvelon Quality H’cap – 1000m

SARAJEVO – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied away from heels leaving the 800m.

WHISKEY ALLROUND – Got its head up in the middle stages and had a tendency to race ungenerously.

WICKED INTENT – Raced wide without cover.

INTO THE RED – Raced wide without cover.


Race 4: BRC Vo Rogue Plate – 3yo Group 3 – 1300m

DOUBT DEFYING – Pulled hard in the early stages and then passing the 1000m had to be checked off heels.

FARAWAY TOWN – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

RICH AFFAIR – Jockey G. Colless reported his mount hung out approaching the home turn.








Race 5: Lilivale Stud B.J. McLachlan Stakes 2yo – 1200m

SERIOUS DOUBTS – Change of tactics. From the wide barrier to be ridden back in the field The horse subsequently settled at the rear of the field.

COLOSIMO – Change of tactics. From the wide barrier to be ridden further back in the field. Slow to begin and settled back in the field.

UMAWINNER – Became fractious in the barriers, reared up, striking its head. The horse was subsequently removed from the gates and found to have blood in its mouth. The horse was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.52 pm. All monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win
7 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
5 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets

The start was delayed when SO INVINCIBLE required farrier attention.

SNITZKRAFT – Raced wide without cover. Jockey L. Dittman reported at scale his mount blundered on jumping away and as a result the breast-plate broke and also his saddle shifted at this stage. He added he was then unable to restrain the colt and his mount was inclined to hang out and overrace. A post race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the near foreleg and had a slow recovery rate.

TIARA STAR – Slow to begin.

COORG – Held up and had to be steadied away from heels near the 300m.


Race 6: Buffering Quality H’cap – 1300m

TRUBIA – Slow to begin.

SIR MOMENTS – Slow to begin.

FRIENDLY DRAGON – Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room.

IN HIS STRIDE – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale that when attempting to steady his mount approaching the 1000m his mount got its head up and raced ungenerously. He added that after passing the 800m his mount hung in and made contact with the running rail on numerous occasions.

TOO GOOD TO REFUSE – Had to be steadied approaching the 200m and shift outwards to obtain clear running.

MOST IMPORTANT – Brushed approaching the winning post.

NINTH LEGION – Brushed approaching the winning post. Lost its off hind plate in running.

BALIGARI – Raced wide without cover.


Race 7: Magic Millions Bernborough Quality H’cap – 1600m

PRINCE MANITOU – Raced ungenerously in the early stages and then obtained cover after leaving the 1000m.

LORD LUMBERJACK – Unable to be restrained during the preliminary until near the 1000m. Then returned to the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. Lost its off hind plate in running. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MR EPIC – Had to be checked near the 350m when tightened for room between BERRY DELICIOUS, which shifted out slightly, and CYLINDER BEACH, which laid in.

MAN OF HIS WORD – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale his mount laid out after leaving the 200m. Lost the off fore plate running.

COOLRING – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 100m.

RUDY – Raced wide without cover.


Race 8: UBET Nudgee Quality H’cap – 1200m

PRESS REPORT – From the wide barrier to be ridden in a forward position. Raced wide without cover in a handy position.

SOLD FOR SONG – Began awkwardly.

GLOBAL GLAMOUR – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied from heels near the 900m. Held up from passing the 400m and did not obtain clear running until near the 150m.

OCEAN EMBERS – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn. Had to be steadied off heels near the 300m. Jockey D. Lane accidentally dropped his whip near the 200m.

ZESTFUL – Held up rounding the home turn, then then again held up momentarily at heels near the 200m.

BIDII BABE – Obliged to alter course to obtain clear running inside the 200m.

MISS COVER GIRL – Had to be steadied when tiring near the 150m when briefly tightened for room. Raced wide without cover.

ELEGANT COMPOSURE – A post race veterinary revealed a laceration on the near hind fetlock.

BEATNIKS – Lost both fore plates in running.
