After reviewing the horse's barrier manners on the patrol footage Trainer T Gollan agreed with the comments of Jockey Harrison. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.

App Dell conceded that with hindsight he had erred in continuing to restrain the gelding leaving the 500m when there was an opportunity for him to commence improving into the race. App Dell further added that passing the 400m he commenced to place the gelding under pressure after which it finished off the race well. Stewards agreed with App Dell that he had erred in his riding leaving the 500m however, bearing in mind his limited experience as an apprentice did not believe his error was culpable.
