Race 1: HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY MAC ZIMMERMAN/FINANCIAL SERVICES BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP - 1400m
1st – BEAUZEL 2nd - SPURSYN 3rd – REAL TRICKY 4th – TOUCAN UKELELE

BEAUZEL – As W. O’Connell was injured, Apprentice T. Williams was substituted as the rider of the gelding. Raced wide in the middle stages.

GENERAL KINGSMAN – Tightened for room at the start. Apprentice H. English reported the gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages.

BLACK SALT – Raced wide throughout.

ALL IN TIME – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey M. O’Brien reported that the gelding was not suited by the fast tempo of today’s event, and performs better in races over a longer distance than today’s event. Trainer M. Park agreed with the comments and indicated he would be looking for races over a longer distance going ahead with the gelding’s preparation.


Race 2: COMBINED HOTELIERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m
1st – LILLY RUSH 2nd – HAMMERACK 3rd – OUR BOY MONTY 4th – WARDEH

FIRM STAND – Difficult to load. Trainer T. Dougall was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

THE SPIRIT OF JAZZ – Jockey S. Bayliss reported the mare raced greenly and hung out rounding the first turn. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

GROSSALOCKNER – Bumped at the start. Forced wider on the track near the 900m.

HAMMERACK – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Apprentice L. Tilley reported the gelding was reluctant to race between horses and checked of its own accord near the 400m.

TRAMPS ‘N’ THIEVES – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice H. English was reminded of her obligations to straighten her mount when shifting ground.

OUR BOY MONTY – Bumped at the start.

JAMAICA BLU – Began awkwardly and lost ground.


Race 3: GOONDIWINDI INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIERS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1200m
1st – QUELLE BEAUTE 2nd – BIZARRE ROCK 3rd – BAY RUST 4th – CHOSEN COURT

WILLOW MIST – Began awkwardly.

BAY RUST – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and brushed another runner on a number of occasions.

RED WARNING – Brushed by another runner on a number of occasions in the home straight.

TIN’S POCKET – Raced wide throughout.

BRAZEN JAKE – Raced wide in the middle stages.


Race 4: INGLEWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1000m
1st – SQUEEMI 2nd – MORE OF THE ZAIM 3rd – TORNADOES 4th – MR THATCHER

MORE OF THE ZAIM – Following the event, jockey S. Bayliss returned to scale distressed, was attended to by the on-course ambulance officers and stood down from his remaining ride. Jockey Bayliss was notified he will need to provide a medical clearance before riding again.

COVER UP – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

TORNADOES – Near the 900m, had to be checked when tightened for room to the inside of JEPTOO, which also had to be steadied when taken in by THE ROBBER, which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.

MR THATCHER – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 900m.


Race 5: GOONDIWINDI MAIN STREET & HOSPITALITY OUTLETS CLASS B H’CAP – 1000m
1st – QUEEN OF THE ARK 2nd – KARMA FORCE 3rd – JEDDA’S GIRL 4th – LEILA’S CALL

EXCELLENT STAR – As jockey S. Bayliss was stood down following Race 4, D. McIntosh was substituted as the rider of the mare.

BRUBAKER – Slow to begin.

WILD ROMANCE – Began awkwardly.
