QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BURDEKIN RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 1 DECEMBER 2018 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD (4) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. Viero Bookmakers Supervisor – Stewards Starter – T. Woodham Race 1: PETER TAPIOLAS RATING BAND 0 – 55 H’CAP – 900M HELLO TUCKER - As Jockey D. Edmonds was indisposed, he was replaced by Jockey N. Nelson as the rider of the gelding. Shifted hind shoe during transit to the course, which was unable to be located and permission was granted for the horse to race bare footed on both hinds. Slow to begin. CHIC SOX – Slow to begin. Shifted wider in the middle stages to improve and raced wide from that point onwards. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. BLAZON TALES – Slow to begin. Race 2: LES SIBSON BEMCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1180M WE FOUND IT – Began awkwardly. ANNE CATHERINE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3: KEITH MANN CLASS B H’CAP – 1180M KYRIE ELEISON – Slow to begin. DORIS STAR – Raced wide in the early and middle stage and commenced to compound leaving the 600m, finishing tailed off. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a respiratory condition. Trainer D. Veivers was advised that the mare would be required to undergo an endoscopic examination to be presented to Stewards and a satisfactory trial of more than 800m in the presence of Stewards before being permitted to race again. Race 4: HUMPHREY HEATLY MAIDEN PLATE – 1180M FLASH FOX - Shifted a hind shoe and was unable to be re-plated, permission was granted for the horse to race bare footed on both hinds. ASHES TO ASHES – Slow to begin. Finished tailed off. When questioned into the disappointing performance, rider C. Jokic was at a loss to explain the performance other than the horse was never competitive throughout the race. Trainer representative Mr S. Jokic agreed with Ms. Jokic’s statement and advised Stewards that in view of today’s performance it would be stables intention that the horse be retired from racing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Nonetheless, Mr Jokic was advised that should the gelding continue racing it must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards of a distance of more than 1000m before being permitted to race again. JUZOU – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RACE 5: WILLIAM (CODY) PRIZEMAN CLASS B H’CAP – 1460M Due to barrier 6, being found to malfunction, all horses from barrier 6 onwards were moved out one barrier. LOLLIPOP ROCKET – Due to losing its off front plate which was unable to be found and no blacksmith being present on course, Stewards exceeded to a request for the gelding to race without front plates. In considering this matter, Stewards took into consideration todays track conditions being suitable. TAPTHETILL – Raced wide throughout. ZEDAHEEL – Raced wide throughout.
