General:
Trainer Mr J Jackson was reprimanded under LR67 for failing to declare Jockey T Chambers as the rider of MOJAVE ROYALE in race 4 and Jockey J Felix as the rider of POWER UP in race 5. In assessing penalty Stewards took into Mr Jackson’s good record in relation to the rule.

Race 1: Dr Cathy Reto Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – AKHEILOS 2nd – YARD GLASS 3rd – BRONZE TIARA 4th – PERDANERITE

TALE OF FORTUNE – Refused to parade to the barriers and was a late withdrawal at 1.10pm. When correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets placed on TALE OF THE FORTUNE be refunded in full and all other successful bets made on the race be subject to the following deductions of 8c win and 10c place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Ms T Parry was told that a warning would be placed on the mare.

BRONZE TIARA – Slow to begin.

Race 2: Telemon Droughtmaster Stud Class 3 Plate 1000 metres:
1st – SMOOTH ELEMENT 2nd – LAGUNA VISTA 3rd – YANCHA BOY 4th – PERCULES

LEMON CRUIZER – Slow to begin.

PERCULES – Slow to begin then reluctant to stretch out in the early stages due to the kickback.

Race 3: Ringrose Button Chartered Accountants Class 6 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – BUDDY ROCKS 2nd – ZAHA DREAM 3rd – CHAMPAGNE FLYER 4th – DANZ THE MAN

DANZ THE MAN – Was slow to begin.

SPLASH OUT – On return to scale Jockey T Chambers reported that the gelding did not handle the track and may not have backed up from its previous start.

Following the running of this race Jockey T Chambers became ill. Jockey T Chambers was told that prior to riding again she would have to furnish a medical clearance.

Race 4: Hughenden Five Star Supermarket Ratings Band 0 – 45 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – RAHEEBS KINGDOM 2nd – SPICEBOMB 3rd – COWARDOFTHECOUNTY 4th – DIURNAL TIGER

MOJAVE ROYALE – After becoming ill in race 3 Stewards permitted Jockey S Galvin to replace Jockey T Chambers as the rider of the mare.

COWARDOFTHECOUNTY – Hung out rounding the home turn and in the straight placing its rider B Thomson at a disadvantage.

ARMANI PRINCE – On return to scale Jockey J Felix reported that his mount was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages due to the kickback.

Race 5: Hughenden Tyre Centre Class B Handicap 800 metres:
1st – ORCHESTRAL PRINCE 2nd – RAPID QUALO 3rd – POWER UP 4th – HONEY CAT

HONEY CAT – Crowded for room at the start.

JESSETTE – Began awkwardly.

ORCHESTRAL PRINCE – Bumped at the start.

POWER UP – Laid out rounding the home turn.
