Jockey R. McMahon was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.


Race 1: Ipswich Cup 150 Year Anniversary CG&E Maiden H'cap – 1100m

WINE BARREL – Raced greenly and hung out in the early and middle stages. Laid in in the straight and dipped near the 50m. A post race veterinary examination revealed a mild laceration to the off hind leg.

JACK ATTACK – Raced 3 wide without cover.

ISPAHAN – Apprentice S. Eilbeck was fined $100 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.


Race 2: Channel 7 F&M Maiden H'cap – 1100m

MORE MARTINIS – Began awkwardly, resulting in its rider striking his left foot.

DIAMOND ON COMMAND – Checked shortly after the start. Hung in in the middle stages.

LILY GISELLE – Checked near the 600m.

IN AKITA – Inconvenienced near the 600m.

LADY CASUARINA - Steadied near the 500m.

SHADES OF SERENA – Inconvenienced approaching the 100m.

AMBITIOUS BLONDE – Steadied when crowded slightly approaching the winning post. Lost its near fore plate in running.

DYNAMIC DRIVE – Lost its near hind plate in running.


Race 3: Ipswich Cup Tix Selling Fast Class 5 H'cap – 1690m

ELECTRIC DE JAY – Trainer B. Smith was fined $100 for presenting the horse without glue-on shoes, which was part of its approved gear. Apprentice S. Fawke was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

DENONINATOR – Slow to begin.

PANNO ROSSA – Crowded slightly on jumping away. Raced 4 wide from the 800m. Raced 3 wide in the early stages.

TALON LADY – Pulled hard in the early stages.

VA VA VENI – Lost its near fore and hind plates in running.


Race 4: City Of Ipswich Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1010m

SHADY DAISY – L. Dittman was stood down by the ambulance officers doctor and replaced by apprentice S. Fawke. Race 3 wide without cover.

RILE – Crowded at the start. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running and consequently was unable to be tested over the concluding stages, and approaching the 100m was steadied to avoid the heels of MOSS HARRY (D. Dell), which shifted in. Apprentice C. Dell was reprimanded.

LORD TSCHARKE – Bumped on jumping away. Made the turn awkwardly and laid out. Raced 3 wide.

SUNSET SHOWDOWN – Hung in in the straight.






Race 5: Ipswich Cup Marquees Selling Fast QTIS 3yo H'cap – 2190m

SNAPPER ROCKS – Slow into stride. Trainer B. Guy advised that the gelding lost both front concussion plates in the early stages of the event.

PROVOCATIVE – Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels shortly thereafter. Jockey V. Colgan was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. Inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight.

MISHANI SCOUT – Jockey J. Orman dropped his whip near the 100m.

HEY HEY MY MY – Finished tailed off. Connections were advised that the horse will be barred from metropolitan meetings until there is a form improvement.

Race 6: Schweppes Class 3 H'cap – 1200m

JACK LANCASTER – Slow to begin.

LOFN – Slow to begin.

BEAUXBATON – Overraced in the early stages.

LADY DE RETZ – Laid out from the 600m. Raced 3 wide without cover.

VANISHKA – Carried wider from the 600m and laid out around the turn. Raced 3 wide.

SAIPAN - Lost both front plates in running.


Race 7: Sirromet Benchmark 85 H'cap – 1200m

YOU DID WHAT – L. Dittman was stood down by the ambulance officers and replaced by apprentice S. Eilbeck. Raced 5 wide from the 700m.

CASARATI – Dipped on jumping away.

RED BOWERS – Dipped on jumping away.

HOT SAGA – Began awkwardly and was then bumped.

ROSENET – Overraced in the early stages and was unable to be restrained and consequently raced 3 wide without cover from the 800m.

ABU BEN ADAM – Raced 3 wide without cover.


Race 8: Ray White Ipswich Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1350m

GREAT INAGUA – Connections advised that from the wide gate the horse would be ridden back in the field. The horse was ridden accordingly. Badly inconvenienced at the 1100m.

NEVETUS – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide.

RHIATENN ROAD – Began awkwardly.

HAMACHO – Slow to muster speed. Jockey T. Harrison explained that the horse had been racing on rain affected tracks previously. She added that on today's firm track her mount never stretched out and wanted to hang out throughout and was never comfortable on the track today. Jockey Harrison said for this reason she did not test the gelding out in the straight.

GET ON – Inconvenienced at the 1100m.

FRIENDLY DRAGON – Slow to muster speed and then was hampered slightly shortly after the start. Inconvenienced at the 1100m.

EVERYBODY HAPPY – Hung out on the home turn. Raced 3 wide without cover.
