RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT LONGREACH JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY 1st APRIL , 2017 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. Ballard Race 1: WATTS CATERING MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres I’M LADDIE’S MISS – Travelled wide for the majority. MISTRESS OF MONEY – Slow to begin. Race 2: THURECHT BROS SADDLERY BM 60 HANDICAP - 1400 metres Stewards accepted the reason of trainer R. Simpson’s late declaration of jockey R. Hancock on THE BUNSTA. ONE UP – Jumped away awkwardly. BASHAN – Slow into stride and travelled wide for the majority. THE BUNSTA – Travelled wide for the majority with cover. Race 3: ANDERSON & HARRIS BOOKMAKERS BM 50 HANDICAP - 1200 metres LOCA DA VIDA was a late scratching at 2.17pm as there was no rider available. YUM SING – Bounded away awkwardly unseating jockey J. Lait who took several strides to regain his balance on the gelding. JECHI – Travelled wide the majority of the event. LOCA DA VIDA – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages. BUSH BELLA – Jockey M. Haley was reprimanded for his use of the whip prior to the 100m. The was a short delay while a veterinary inspection took place on THE BUNSTA to see if the gelding was fit to race again after competing in Race 2. Veterinary officers declared the gelding would require more time to recover. After discussing the situation with all parties involved stewards decided to run race 4 as the last race of the day and bring race 5 forward slightly. Race 5: ARTHUR MOODY MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP - 1100 metres CONQUISTADOR – Slow into stride. CRYSTAL MATES – Travelled wide for the majority. HOLEY GADOLEY – Lay in under pressure down the home straight. Race 4: BROWNS SMASH REPAIRS CLASS 6 PLATE - 1200 metres Jockey R. Hancock was the rider of the BUNSTA after passing a veterinary inspection to race again. SPURRED UP – Reared as the start was effected dislodging apprentice N. Fazackerley and continued racing without the rider for the race without interfering other runners. BENCHI – Shifted in at the 200m tightening inside runner for room. ZAHA DREAM – Tightened for room at the 200m when outside runner shifted ground. THE BUNSTA – Tightened for room leaving the 200m.
