Race 1: Sirromet Wines Open Handicap - 1560 metres 1st BOBCAT 2nd PAYTEEVEE 3rd THANKGODFORFRANC 4th - NEVZLINBOBCAT - Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.ADENARIUS - Raced keenly in the lead.KING COBIA - When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, which was below market expectations, Apprentice Q. Krogh explained that he had been instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position, however when another runner improved to his inside, his mount was inclined to race keenly throughout and was a beaten horse prior to straightening for home. Trainer Mr G. Farrell expressed disappointment with the performance, however was of the opinion that the gelding will be better suited in races over shorter distances. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.Race 2: M & P Services 30th Anniversary Rating Band 0-55 Handicap - 1200 metres 1st BOMBER MISS 2nd KODO 3rd THE TEENY HASS 4th - CRAIGLEA FOCUS PURE CHANCE - Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground (10 lengths). Trainer Ms O. Cairns was told that prior to racing again the gelding will have to perform satisfactory in two consecutive trials.MANNA GUM - Began awkwardly with its head up.BOMBER MISS - Knuckled shortly after the start.Race 3: Vast Interior Golden Stakes 2-Y-O Plate - 1200 metres 1st - SAYROTHY 2nd CRAIGLEA BARINA 3rd MISHANI SHIRAZ 4th - MISHANI BELIEVER MISHANI BELIEVER - Slow to begin.RED DAYS - Slow to begin.GOLDEN DAWN - For a short distance after the start attempted to buck. Trainer Mr J. Manzelmann was told that a warning will be placed on the filly's racing manners. Passing the 500 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.CRAIGLEA BARINA - Jockey P. Cullen was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out right to the finish.Race 4: The Underground GYM Class 3 Handicap - 1050 metres 1st JEWELLERY THIEF 2nd - ELSPETH'S STAR 3rd - DANE CHEVAL 4th - OUR SINGLE DOUBTDANE CHEVAL - Fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly, then raced keenly in the early stages.OUR SINGLE DOUBT - Slow to begin.DYNA CI - Bumped at the start.JEWELLERY THIEF - Shortly after straightening was momentarily awkwardly placed on heels.MIDNIGHT SONG - Passing the 700 metres had to be steadied after improving onto heels. Jockey M. Morris was reprimanded under A.R. 137A for using his whip on JORDANS JET on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 2 more than is permitted under the rule. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Morris' exemplary record in relation to the rule.RAILROAD BILL - Bumped at the start.PALE FACE ROCKET - Slow to begin, then was crowded for room a short time later.SEBRING ANGEL - Shifted in abruptly at the start. The gelding was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. ELOVACHILL - Crowded for room at the start. When the pace slowed in the middle stages commenced to over-race with its head up.ONE MORE CHANCE - Bumped at the start, then raced wide throughout without cover.PERFECTLY ALIGNED - Bumped at the start.SLEW LEFT - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.STYLISH LUCK - On returning to scale Apprentice Q. Krogh reported that it had not been his intention to lead, however when runners to his inside elected to restrain, rather than be caught wide he allowed his mount to stride forward and assume the lead.
