Rounding the turn near the 1000 metres PHANTOM SOX (Jockey S kaya) shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and carried DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE (Jockey B Swaffer) in onto NINETYNINE PERCENT (Jockey W D’Avila).NINETYNINE PERCENT – Shortly after straightening shifted out and made contact with another runner.PHANTOM SOX – Shortly after straightening was bumped by another runner.Race 5: Mareeba RSL MM/FNQ Up & Coming Stayers Ratings Band 0-50 Handicap 1500 metres:1st – BUSH VERSION 2nd – BIG TOMEE 3rd – FRUMBOLI 4th – SMALL CHANGELATEST EDITION – Was slow to begin.Race 6: Central Tyre Services ‘The Celebration’ Benchmark 65 Handicap 1500 metres:1st – TESTAMYCOLOURS 2nd – WRITTEN INTENT 3rd – HERE TO DASH 4th – MISHANI PERSUADERStewards questioned trainer Mr R Chillemi in relation to the acceptance and scratching of PRESS PLAY from the above aforementioned race. Mr Chillemi explained that it had been his intention to start PRESS PLAY however when the gelding did not pull up as well as expected from its Townsville run on Friday 22nd April he elected to withdraw PRESS PLAY from today’s event.
