Race 1: Color Studio QTIS Maiden Plate 900 metres:
1st – RED SHAWL 2nd – SAY LA FI 3rd – LITLE RED ROCKET 4th – NONA SAAL’S GIRL

LITTLE RED ROCKET – Was fractious in the barriers and missed the start. Approaching the home turn improved onto heels and had to be checked.

SECRET RECIPE – Was crowded at the start then raced greenly throughout.

RED SHAWL – Over the concluding stages was inclined to shift out under pressure.

Race 2: Riverside Spelling Benchmark 55 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – ISADORE AMORE 2nd – FALSE ALARM 3rd – AUSSIE JEWEL 4th – ARCANUS

ARCANUS – Over the final stages was held up on heels and went to the finish without being fully tested.

Race 3: Mareeba Mazda Ratings Band 0-45 Handicap 1010 metres:
1st – SILVER STAR 2nd – PRIMED FOR ACTION 3rd – HELOW TUCKER 4th – GIVE ME TIME

FOURSREAL – Was crowded at the start.

Race 4: Mareeba Leagues Club Benchmark 50 Handicap 1210 metres:
1st – TIERES ROCK 2nd – FAST ‘N’ SHARP 3rd – PHANTOM SOX 4th – NINETYNINE PERCENT

HOTEL SPLENDIDO – Slow to begin.

MAN OF BUSINESS – Approaching the first turn near the 1000 metres was inclined to race ungenerously with its head up and had to be steadied from heels.

Rounding the turn near the 1000 metres PHANTOM SOX (Jockey S kaya) shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and carried DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE (Jockey B Swaffer) in onto NINETYNINE PERCENT (Jockey W D’Avila).

NINETYNINE PERCENT – Shortly after straightening shifted out and made contact with another runner.

PHANTOM SOX – Shortly after straightening was bumped by another runner.

Race 5: Mareeba RSL MM/FNQ Up & Coming Stayers Ratings Band 0-50 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – BUSH VERSION 2nd – BIG TOMEE 3rd – FRUMBOLI 4th – SMALL CHANGE

LATEST EDITION – Was slow to begin.

Race 6: Central Tyre Services ‘The Celebration’ Benchmark 65 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – TESTAMYCOLOURS 2nd – WRITTEN INTENT 3rd – HERE TO DASH 4th – MISHANI PERSUADER

Stewards questioned trainer Mr R Chillemi in relation to the acceptance and scratching of PRESS PLAY from the above aforementioned race. Mr Chillemi explained that it had been his intention to start PRESS PLAY however when the gelding did not pull up as well as expected from its Townsville run on Friday 22nd April he elected to withdraw PRESS PLAY from today’s event. His explanation was noted.
