Race 1: Milner Constructions Pty Ltd QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap - 1050 metres
1st PARTY PARDEE 2nd MANY CLOUDS 3rd MIM'S POET 4th - CRAIGLEA EVELYN

WICKED HUNDRED - Tightened between runners at the start. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities.

MIM'S POET - and CRAIGLEA BARINA - Shifted ground at the start.

MANY CLOUDS - Was inclined to lay in under pressure and near the 100 metres bumped MIM'S POET.

Race 2: Kele Property Group F&M Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st LI'L BIT GREEDY 2nd CAREFILLY 3rd THAT PRETTY GIRL 4th - MISS SATINE

NEVAEH - Began awkwardly and lost some ground.

CAREFILLY - Slow to begin.

FLEURETTA BROWN - Near the 900 metres over-raced for a short distance until able to obtain cover. Trainer T. Cook advised stewards that the mare had got its tongue over the bit.

AKSANA - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Following the race LI'L BIT GREEDY was suffering from mild heat stress.


Race 3: Hartecs Group Maiden Handicap - 1500 metres
1st AHMAH STAR 2nd TRIGGER LAD 3rd THAT’S WOODY 4th - CRUNCH TIME

CRUNCH TIME - Began awkwardly.

DUAN STORMY - Was a little slow to begin.

JOHANTEE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Apprentice N. Vuille was fined $200 under A.R. 92(12) for failing to claim her full allowance. Apprentice Vuille was fined $200 under A.R. 137A for using her whip on the filly on 5 occasions more than permitted by the rule. In assessing penalty stewards took into account her recent good record in relation to the rule.

AHMAH STAR - When questioned regarding the gelding leading, Jockey D. Hayse said that he was of the opinion that there was not a lot of speed in the race, and from its wide barrier he was instructed to take up a handy position. He said that when the expected leader failed to improve to his inside, his mount assumed the lead of its own accord.

Race 4: Rockhampton Grammar School Past Students Association Class 6 Plate - 1200 metres
1st WILDEBEAST 2nd TOP ROYAL 3rd NELAMOS 4th - OUTBACK LIGHTNING

GREEN EMPIRE and NELAMOS - Slow to begin

TOP ROYAL - Rolled out near the 600 metres, taking GREEN EMPIRE out onto GLACIER EXPRESS.

Race 5: XXXX Gold Class 3 Plate - 1050 metres
1st EKKLESTONE 2nd VAINACIOUS 3rd HOYWEDGE 4th - SHANDIEN

WATASHAM - Laid out in the middle stages. Near the 450 metres rolled out marginally, as EKKLESTONE attempted a narrow run which was obliged to shift out across the heels of VAINACIOUS.

VAINACIOUS - Raced 3 wide for the majority of the event.
