PalmerRace 1: Clark Rubber Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres 1st GONDWANA BAY 2nd ZATORIO 3rd STAR PROSECUTOR 4th - NOVA PRIMELIGHTNING ARTIST - Upon arrival behind the barriers underwent a veterinary examination which revealed that the gelding was lame in the off fore leg. LIGHTNING ARTIST was declared a late scratching, at 12.43 p.m. Stewards ordered that all bets made on the gelding be refunded and that the following deductions apply: 11¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, GONDWAYA BAY 13¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, GONDWANA BAY 10¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, ZATORIO 14¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, STAR PROSECUTOR.Trainer D. Schultz was advised that he must furnish a veterinary clearance prior to the horse being permitted to race again.QUIET REFLECTION - After being placed in the barriers, reared and harmlessly dislodged its rider. The gelding was removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. MAGIC GLOW - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. STAR PROSECUTOR- Began awkwardly and lost ground.ZATORIO - Jockey D. Evans pleaded guilty to a charge und A.R. 137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on the gelding on more than 5 occasions more than permitted prior to the 100 metres. Jockey Evans’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at m/n 21st May 2016, up to and including 31st May 2016 (10 days).Race 2: Milne Bros Country Cup BM 55 Handicap - 1600 metres 1st ONE LUCKY SHEILA 2nd GAS BURNER 3rd ISTALENA 4th - KHAPTIVATA ISTALENA - Slow to begin.HIS REDEMPTION - Slow to begin.ROYAL COUPE - Raced 3 wide for the majority of the event.PERFECTLY ALIGNED - When questioned about the performance , Jockey N. Day explained that the gelding was disappointing. He said that he placed his mount under pressure in the early stages when racing 3 wide, in an endeavour to take up a more forward position however was not able to do so. In his opinion the gelding is one-paced and is likely to be stepped up in distance at its next start.HALFBLOOD PRINCE - When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey D. Evans said that he was able to settle his mount towards the rear of the field, however in his opinion the race was run at a fast tempo and the gelding failed to finish the race off well and may not have been suited by the heavy impost of 61.5kg. Stewards will follow up with trainer G. Bell.SHOCKWAVE - Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages, was inclined to lay in slightly and was not fully tested.Race 3: Giddy Goat Café Sunline Stakes Class 2 Handicap - 1100 metres 1st VAINACIOUS 2nd VICIOUS CHICK 3rd QUICK ASSAULT 4th - MACGYVERDANE CHEVAL- Began awkwardly. Leaving the 900 metres commenced to over-race, raced ungenerously, shifted in and OUTBACK WRANGLER had to be eased. Shortly afterwards DANE CHEVAL shifted out and had to be restrained from the heels of VAINACIOUS.WINSOMEMORE - Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover.SHANDIEN - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.MACGYVER - Raced wide with cover.Race 4: Ray White Rural Rockhampton QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1200 metres 1st CASINO THOUGHTS 2nd LEGAL PROCEDURE 3rd SHIGZAG 4th - KING MAX THE GIRLS IN PARIS - Began awkwardly. UNI - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.LEGAL PROCEDURE - Raced wide with cover throughout.CASINO THOUGHTS - Near the 200 metres Jockey D. Hayse had his whip knocked from his grasp.Race 5: Tattersall’s Racing Club Brisbane Rocky Amateurs Bracelet Open Handicap - 1200 metres 1st OUTBACK SAGA 2nd SAY I WON'T 3rd COURT CLOWN 4th - PERFORMIA BASHAN - Slow to begin.CRAIGLEA WANDOO - Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding Jockey P. Cullen stated that he could offer no tangible explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was showing mild distress. Stewards will follow up with trainer K. Johnston.LANSDOWNE ROAD - Began awkwardly and then raced 3 wide without cover.WINGED WARRIOR - Began awkwardly. Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted by Jockey D. Evans and the performance of the gelding. Jockey Evans stated that the horse began only fairly and while he was instructed to take up a handy position, he did not begin well enough to comply with those instructions and shortly after the start obtained a position worse than midfield. He said that his mount had raced fairly throughout, in his opinion, had failed to let down. The explanation was noted.OUTBACK SAGA- Routine swab sample was taken immediately post-race. Stewards directed that the horse remain on course for 2 hours with further blood and urine samples obtained.Race 6: Bentley’s Rocky Amateurs Cup Open Handicap - 1600 metres 1st- HIDDEN NATURE 2nd- MAMSELLE CORDAY 3rd- SANOSUKE 4th - NELAMOSHIDDEN NATURE - Began very awkwardly. At approximately the 400 metres rolled out from the heels of another runner and caused OUTBACK SAPPER, which was weakening, to become unbalanced.LEO'S SPIRIT - Began awkwardly.MAMSELLE CORDAY - Began awkwardly and made contact with another runner. From the 1200 metres over-raced, shifted ground and tightened the running of SANOSUKE, which brushed the running rail. Near the 500 metres was held up momentarily and unable to obtain clear running on the heels of OUTBACK SAPPER.KING'S STAR - Slow to begin. Trainer K Miller was of the opinion that his mount had jarred up and he now intended to retire the horse from racing. CLEANSING ALE - From the 1300 metres commenced to over-race and shifted out, then raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres.Race 7: The Capricornian Credit Union Class 3 Plate - 1300 metres 1st - KIPLING 2nd- WORTHY HERO 3rd - COVENTRY 4th - RACING HARADA MANILA ACADEMY - Slow to begin.STYLISH LUCK - Slow to begin.MAGNIFICENT SHOW - Near the 800 metres rolled in and hampered COVENTRY, which had to be eased.KIPLING - Jockey N.
