GENERAL
Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: CAUGHT IN THE ACT BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1811 metres

BONDURANT – Jockey Ashley Butler was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted (3rd offence).

COACH – Slow to begin.

MILKY ROCKET – Over raced during the early and middle stages.


Race 2: TAB BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1050 metres

YULONG SOVEREIGN – Began awkwardly and bumped with MILO MAN at the start. Laid in under pressure over the final 300m. Jockey Ashley Butler advised that he felt weight impost was the major contributing factor to the slightly disappointing performance.

BRAZEN BRECCIA – Slow to begin. Jockey Justin Stanley advised that the gelding knocked up over the final stages and will derive benefit from the outing. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

KOTABHARU – Slow into stride.

MILO MAN – Bumped after the start with YULONG SOVEREIGN.


Race 3: WENDY MULRY TRAVEL QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1300 metres

BETTERDEEL – Bumped with WHISTLING SPIRIT at the start.

VALTINO – Bumped with NAUGHTY POSSUM at the start.

WHISTLING SPIRIT – Bumped with BETTERDEEL at the start.

NAUGHTY POSSUM – Bumped with VALTINO at the start.

Race 4: GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Handicap 1200 metres

TONKA WAKAN – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide early.

MR TANGLES – Jumped out at the start bumping with MOONSCAPE.

ROYAL TONIC (NZ) – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.

RUN PEGGY RUN – Slow to begin. Inclined to over race early. Jockey Les Tilley advised that he was unable to explain the disappointing performance of the mare. Trainer Tim Cook advised he felt the firmness of the track was a contributing factor for the mare performing below expectation.

STARS OF MEMPHIS – Slow to begin. Brushed with SOFTEN IT UP near the 100m.

ROY'S ROAD – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the final 300m.

MOONSCAPE – Bumped at the start with MR TANGLES. Held up for clear racing room in the early part of the home straight.

SOFTEN IT UP – Brushed with STARS OF MEMPHIS near the 100m.


Race 5: GARRARD'S HORSE & HOUND RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1050 metres

FUTURE IDEA (NZ) – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Held up for clear running until leaving the 400m.

FALSETTO – Jockey Justin Stanley was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

REDDISUN – Slow to begin and bumped with CHESTO’S DREAM. Shifted out under pressure over the final 300m.

CHESTO'S DREAM – Began awkwardly bumping with REDDISUN. Hung in when being directed outwards near the 200m. Jockey Ryan Wiggins was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted (12th offence).

GYPSY ROZAY – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

SHE'S OUT THERE – Raced wide throughout.

SAVVY SONG – Began awkwardly and was bumped at the start. Jockey Les Tilley advised that he felt something was amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was mildly tied up, however no stand down period was issued.

MADANCER – Raced wide for the majority.


Race 6: MAGIC MILLIONS COUNTRY CUP QUALIFIER OPEN Handicap 1200 metres

MASTER JAMIE – Began awkwardly bumping with ABSOLUT ARTIE. Pulled hard early. Apprentice Melea Castle was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted (5th offence).

ABSOLUT ARTIE – Began awkwardly and bumped with MASTER JAMIE at the start. Jockey Ryan Wiggins was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

SVINDAL – Slow to begin and then raced wide early.

ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW – Jockey Adin Thomson was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted (1st offence).

KRAVITZ – Slow to begin.


Race 7: EMPIRE APARTMENTS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap1400 metres

COMMANDER'S WATCH – Bumped at the start with LINGJUN TOPGUN.

SPIRIT OF GIVING – Had difficulty obtaining a clear run until leaving the 300m. Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

YUBETIDO – Fractious before the start. Slow to begin.

MENSCHKEIT – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.

SETHLANS – Raced wide throughout.

LINGJUN TOPGUN – Bumped at the start with COMMANDER’S WATCH.

MASTER RICHARD – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.

MY GIRL SPIRIT – Jumped in the air at the start.
