Race 1: Watermark Financial Services Maiden H'cap – 1000m

ROSIE’S HEART – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its barrier manners.

BOYS FROM THE BUSH – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

SHUGAR BEL – Had to be steadied near the 900m to avoid the heels of COURIER MALE. Apprentice T. Brooker, rider of COURIER MALE, was reprimanded for shifting ground when insufficiently clear. Lost its off fore plate in running.

MIGHTY TAX – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: Shadforths Civil Contractors Class 3 Plate – 1000m

WRITTEN HONOUR – Became fractious in the barriers. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities at the time of inspection.

HANGOVER TOO – Slow to begin. Apprentice C. Jokic reported her mount felt short in its action over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities at the time of inspection.

LADY DENMAN – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Apprentice T. Brooker was fined $200 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

Race 3: Amber Werchon Property QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1100m

GET REAL GIDGET – Slow to begin.

SIDEREUS ATTACKS – Blundered on jumping away. Jockey M. Hellyer was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

LIPSYNC – Steadied near 800m when DANGEROUS DESIRE shifted in. T. Harrison, rider of DANGEROUS DESIRE, was reprimanded. Held up rounding the home turn. Jockey R. Wiggins was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

CALL ME – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 300m.


Race 4: Suu Underwriting Agency Maiden Plate – 1400m

TICKETS TO RIDE – Apprentice D. Panya reported her mount laid in under pressure in the home straight.

BEXSTAR – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey J. Lloyd reported it had not been his intention to lead, however when the tempo of the race was only steady and he had been obliged to position wider on the track, he allowed the horse to stride forward to the lead leaving the 900m.

MARSHALL STROMBERG – Apprentice C. Jokic was reprimanded for using her whip more than 6 times prior to the 100m.


Race 5: Bridges Financial Services Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1400m

DENONINATOR – Slow to begin.

UNBOWED – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.


Race 6: Boss Building Maintenance Class 1 H'cap – 1100m

CLOUT – Connections advised that the horse, which was ridden back last start, would position closer to the speed if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

ZARFASTAR – Tightened for room at the start. Raced ungenerously and had to be checked from heels near the 800m before shifting out abruptly at that point of the race. Bled from both nostrils during the event.

SOL WITNESS – Taken wider on the track near the 800m and lost ground.

PRINCESS IS READY – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey R. Wiggins indicated the horse at this stage of its preparation is looking for more ground. He added that the filly had been freshened up to start over 1200m and when the race was shortened again to 1100m due to the meeting being transferred to the cushion track, he indicated that this did not suit and as a result the horse was under pressure throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

KAITLIN COVE – Lost its near fore plate in running.


Race 7: KBW Community Management Class 2 H'cap – 1400m

ANDARI – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

PERFORATION – Laid in under pressure after passing the 200m. Raced wide and hung out throughout until the 400m. Lost its off fore plate in running.

ROSE OF WOORIM – Raced wide.

CORONATION BRUISER – Bled from both nostrils during the event. Connections were advised that the gelding would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.


Race 8: Carolans First National Class 1 H'cap – 1600m

LEGALLY COOL - A pre race veterinary examination of the horse, which brushed the enclosure gate when proceeding onto the track, cleared the gelding to start. Raced wide before striding forward to a position outside the lead.

HEROIC ROCK – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.

ENEMY’S DEFEATED – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

AUDELLA – Jockey M. Hellyer reported the horse did not appreciate the synthetic racing surface.

CRIMSON FORCE – Apprentice M. Murphy was fined $300 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. This matter will be referred to the Racing Queensland Training Department for further tuition. In assessing penalty, stewards took into account apprentice M. Murphy’s poor record in relation to whip breaches.
