CareySUPPLEMENTARY REPORTActing on a report from Racing Queensland IRU, trainer Mr Jared Wehlow was interviewed regarding his failure to supply a treatment book when asked. After taking evidence from Mr Wehlow, stewards fined Mr Wehlow the sum of $200 under AR178F.Race 1: XXXX Gold Australian Pale Ale NMW H'cap – 1400m SPRING ROSE – Blundered at the start and lost ground. PRADNYA – Unable to secure clear running over the final 100m. BIG DECISION – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. SINGLE CHANCE – Raced 3 wide throughout. Trainer A. Parramore reported that the horse was sore in the near foreleg following the race. Stewards advised him that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start. LESTER’S HOME – Raced 3 wide throughout. MANFRED THE MAN – When asked to explain the disappointing performance, jockey J. Byrne stated that the gelding travelled comfortably until asked for an effort soon after straightening where it began to weaken from that point. A post race veterinary examination revealed it had pulled up in a distressed condition. Trainer S. Iverson undertook to report to stewards the results of veterinary tests he intends to have carried out on the gelding.Race 2: Access Insulation QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1200m MISHANI HONCHO – Slow to begin. TOO GOOD TO REFUSE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. RELAMPAGO – Raced 3 wide without cover. WACK’EM – Raced 4 wide throughout without cover. VALLEY ROSE – Raced 3 wide throughout. FLAMENCO – Raced 3 wide throughout. ALL TROOPS – Overraced in the middle stages. CRAIGLEA WANDOO – Overraced in the early stages. Jockey J. Orman reported his mount hung in for the majority of the race. DRAM OF RED – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Byrne indicated that when placed under pressure between runners in the home straight the gelding was reluctant to improve and it was not until being shifted wider passing the 200m when the horse commenced to respond to his riding. He added that he had recommended to connections to experiment with the addition of blinkers prior to its next race start. GRACEVILLE – Jockey D. Griffin reported that his mount overraced in the lead and it was his view that the horse would be better suited to racing over shorter distances at this stage of its career. Race 3: Yalumba F&M Benchmark 80 H'cap – 1200m BERMUDA BLU – Slow to begin.BARONESS ZEENA – Slow to begin.HIDDEN NATURE – Overraced in the early stages. GLENBAWN DAME – Jockey L. Dittman lost his whip near the 200m when the horse was laying out under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from heat stress. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided and the mare must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start. NICKED AND COURT – Caught wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to take up a position outside the lead when passing the 800m. Race 4: Go Transit Media Group QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1600m SPUR LE JOUER – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider declaration of G. Colless as the rider of the horse. YEAGER – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. MOSHULU – Slow to begin. Checked to avoid heels when bumped heavily by COURT’S STAR passing the 1400m. YEAGER – Hampered soon after the start. Raced 3 wide without cover leaving the 800m.GOOD INTENTIONS – Overraced in the early stages. COURT’S STAR – Jockey B. Stewart pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1400m he directed his mount inwards at that point of the race knowingly forcing another runner in after making heavy contact with that horse, causing jockey J. Byrne to check MOSHULU away from the heels of COURT’S STAR and lose ground at that point of the race. Jockey Stewart was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 10 meetings, to commence at midnight, 1 August and to expire at midnight, 15 August 2015. TOUCH OF BELLA – Jockey T Bell reported he had been instructed to position the horse closer to the lead, however in the early stages he elected to steady as he felt he would be caught 3 wide if he continued to press forward. SAMBUCCA SHOT – Overraced in the early stages and was inclined to hang out. BRIALKA LODGE – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which tailed off, revealed the gelding to lame in the off hind leg. Trainer T. Miller was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to its next race start. Race 5: Spire Law Open H'cap – 1000m EXPLORE THE WORLD – Slow to begin.SHAPIN LADY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. TEXAN LAD – Laid in rounding the home turn and under pressure in the home straight. Raced 4 wide without cover throughout. LOVE ROCKS – A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery. A swab sample was taken. Race 6: Pryde’s Easifeed Open H'cap – 1800m ARCTIC – Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. HOT AUGUSTA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 7: Local News SCTC 30th Anniversary Cup Open H'cap – 1400m OUR BOY NICHOLS – Trainer T. Edmonds was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. LE CAP – Slow to begin.PHELAN READY – Had to be steadied when tightened for room after passing the 1000m. ALLKNIGHT SAINT – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. MALAVIO – Raced 3 wide throughout. EQUISSENTIAL – Raced 3 wide throughout. Race 8: Sea Vista Developments CG&E Benchmark 80 H'cap – 1200m STAY SCHTUM – The start was delayed when the horse kicked out in the barriers after being loaded. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon the gelding was passed to take its place in the field. VOODOO BLUE MAGIC – Restrained after the start and directed back to the fence at an acute angle and had to be checked after making heavy contact with the running rail near the 1100m. Apprentice S. Payne was reprimanded for the carelessness shown. ROMANAMA – Steadied leaving the 900m when placed in restricted room. Trainer D. Forster was questioned regarding the improved performance in winning today. She indicated that at the horse’s most recent start it had been caught wide in the early stages before being ridden forward, and this had a detrimental effect on the performance. Mrs Forster also added that at the horse’s first start back from a spell, which was at Ipswich, it performed disappointingly, however she stated that it had not performed well at this venue in the past. She also felt that the removal of blinkers for the horse’s start today allowed it to settle more comfortably, and the addition of the tongue-tie may have been beneficial to the performance. MANICERO – Obliged to alter course near the 100m to secure clear running. MY QUILTER – Raced 3 wide without cover. EXECUTED – Raced 4 wide without cover throughout. NOT TOO SURE – Raced wide throughout. NICKIERA – Raced wide throughout. IONA FAST ONE – Jockey J. Byrne reported his mount hung out badly throughout the race. BEAU JET – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a significant laceration to the near hind heel consistent with having been galloped on.
