THE SEVEN FALLS – Significantly slow to  begin.

MAJOR OAK – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.

HOWITZER – Raced wide during the early stages before striding forward to a position outside the lead near the 1300m.

EDGE OF THE EAVES – Raced wide throughout.

Following this event, a number of riders were interviewed who were riding in Race 2 after riders had made comments at scale in relation to the safety of the track.  All 7 riders engaged in Race 2 were satisfied to participate in the event, however the consensus  was that as the race meeting continued the track may become unsafe with ongoing damage that would occur.

Race 2: Fuji Xerox Business Centre Sunshine Coast QTIS 2yo H’cap –
1000m

SHE’S A TIGRESS – Jumped away awkwardly, almost dislodging its rider.

TRUST IN ALOHA – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Became awkward after passing the 600m and blundered on a number of occasions prior to the home turn.

BRIGHT COPPER – Raced wide without cover.

BETTER GET SET – Raced wide without cover.

Following the running of this event, the stewards inspected the track and were concerned that horses had appeared to lose their footing, particularly rounding the home turn.  Stewards, also being mindful of comments made by riders following this event, were not satisfied that the track was safe to continue racing, as footing had been compromised due to the rain which had fallen during the morning and cancelled the remainder of the race meeting at 12.30 pm.
