QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT TOWNSVILLE TURF CLUB TOWNSVILLE– TUESDAY 3 11 2020 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – Out 6m 1000-W/Post; Out 2.5m Remainder OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C WarrenStewards – D Lane, P WarrenClerk of Scales – K DeaneJudge – J Carter, M BatesVeterinarian – Dr D VieroSwab Attendants – Dr D VieroStarter – J Cullen General Jockey M Abe was fined the sum of $500 under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting rides on GAME OF CIRCLES, HIBACHI MISS and SHES MAGANDA when unable to make the allocated weight. Race 1: Maritime Museum Maiden Handicap 1000m HIDDEN CLASSIC- As the gelding was resuming after an extended absence from racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Fractious in the mounting yard. Raced greenly throughout. Trainer M Preston was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings pre-race manners. GAME OF CIRCLES- As Jockey M Abe was to be overweight, App E Cass was substituted as the rider of the mare. Raced wide throughout. FINDELTON- Began awkwardly. Obliged to steady momentarily when crowded between runners passing the 800m. Improved onto heels, having to be steadied approaching the 500m. HOTBOSSAN(GB)- Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. GUSTNADO- Shifted out and around the heels of another runner on entering the home straight. QUEZMAR- Raced wide throughout. MARCY MAGIC- Raced wide throughout. Race 2: TAB Make a Date With Play Ratings Band 0-58 Handicap 1000m POWER OF DIVAS- After becoming fractious in the race day tie-ups injured it’s front limbs on a petition between stalls and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 11:32am on Veterinary advice. Trainer S D’Avila was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the mare again being permitted to start in a race. The start of the race was delayed when one of the stirrup leathers on CHARGING CLEAR (B Thomson) was found to be damaged and needed to be replaced at the barriers. HIBACHI MISS- As Jockey M Abe was to be overweight, App E Cass was substituted as the rider of the mare. Raced wide throughout. CEEBIZ KIT- Began awkwardly. Jockey P Romeo advised that his mount had been inclined to lay out under pressure down the running. SIN TAN- Commenced to lay out approaching the 600m turn. Shifted in rounding the home turn inconveniencing another runner, Jockey N Nelson was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. When tiring was bumped by another runner which was improving to its outside approaching the 200m. Continued to tire and shifted out marginally passing the 100m hampering another runner. INVINCIBLE TAMMY- After attempting to secure a marginal run was obliged to steady off the heels of another runner which shifted in rounding the home turn. When improving into a tight run approaching the 200m bumped with a tiring runner. Jockey S Sheargold was reminded of his obligations under AR131(a). BRAVE BOW- Steadied when crowded for room passing the 100m. CHARGING CLEAR- Shifted in marginally passing the 100m hampering another runner. Raced wide the majority. EXELANT MOSH- Raced wide the majority. Race 3: Coral Coast Shield 28 November Benchmark 72 Handicap 1000m The start of the race was delayed when MISHANI REDMAN, KENTUCKY FLYER and SWEET PERFUME required re-saddling at the barriers. ISILMO- Slow to begin. BALMACEDA- Improved onto heels passing the 500m having to be steadied. Obliged to restrain approaching the winning post when runners to the inside and outside shifted ground respectively. KENTUCKY FLYER- Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running. Shifted out approaching the winning post tightening another runner. Jockey P Romeo was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. SHROUDED- Shifted in approaching the winning post tightening another runner. App E Cass was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. PERFECT KNOWLEDGE- Taken wider and momentarily hampered by another runner which laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide throughout. SWEET PERFUME- Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages momentarily hampering and taking another runner wider. Jockey G Kliese was reprimanded as a result of this incident. TOY BOY- Raced wide throughout. Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the patrol footage over the concluding stages. After viewing the official footage Stewards were satisfied no significant interference had occurred and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers. Race 4: Master Builders Ratings Band 0-55 Handicap 1200m SHES MAGANDA- When no other suitable rider was available Jockey M Abe was permitted to ride the mare 1kg over the allocated weight. Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner. MURTALLICA- Buffeted between runners on jumping. PANTONE- Shifted in on jumping tightening another runner. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages momentarily hampering another runner. Jockey W D’Avila was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. DANCE AROUND- Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. BOLD SENSATION- Slow to begin. BOLD ZIP- Inclined to over-race in the middle stages. Obliged to momentarily ease when a runner to its inside laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. UPPER DELIGHT- Raced wide throughout. Race 5: Brown Brothers Wine & Dine Evening Benchmark 65 Handicap 1300m Declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey B Thomson, rider of 2nd place getter FORGIATO, requested to view the photo finish. After viewing the official photo Jockey Thomson was satisfied with the result and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers. JEMADAR- Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner. On returning to scale Jockey P Romeo advised that he did not pressure his mount over the concluding stages as, in his opinion, the gelding was tiring and felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE- Buffeted between runners on jumping. TEARS TO GLORY(NZ)- Shifted in on jumping tightening another runner. Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running. FORGIATO(NZ)- Bumped with another runner on jumping. ROTHMAN- Inclined to over-race when the pace slackened in the middle stages. AUTMED- Inclined to over-race when the pace slackened in the middle stages. Obliged to steady after being disappointed for a marginal run approaching the 200m before shifting wider across heels to obtain clear running. THE THICK OF IT- Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding App E Cass advised that after beginning fairly from a wide barrier she had been unable to obtain cover or a position close to the inside running rail so she elected to let her mount stride forward preferring to be wide and forward rather than racing wide in a rearward position. Stewards noted the explanation. LICKETY LACHIE- Buffeted between runners on jumping. ACADEMY HILL- Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner. Jockey J Felix was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner, 16 times, throughout the event.
