Race 1: POTTERS BOUTIQUE HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H’CAP – 1000M
 
GO GET SUM – Bumped at the start.
 
TIN’S POCKET – Raced wide throughout.
 
CRAIGLEA MASTA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SNUGGLE POT – Raced wide throughout.
 
WIGGLE – Bumped at the start.  Tightened for room and lost ground shortly after the start.
 
BALKAN BAMBINO – Began awkwardly.  Shifted in and bumped another runner shortly after the start.  When questioned regarding the performance, Apprentice Panya agreed that the gelding was disappointing and stated that, in her opinion, the horse races best when it is able to gain a more forward position than in today’s event.  Apprentice Panya also stated that the horse is better suited when racing over longer distances than today’s event.  Trainer P. Duff agreed with Apprentice Panya’s comments.  Stewards noted the explanations provided.
 
LAYLA’S LAD – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced.
 
Race 2: BROWN BROTHERS PRESECCO BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 1310M
 
I’M ALONE – Slow to begin.  Raced keenly for a short distance passing the 900M.
 
CHAMAREL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and brushed the running rail on a number of occasions.
 
JUST AS LOYAL – Slow to begin.  Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHIGZAG – Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
FLYING LUCKY – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey S. Bogenhuber stated that the gelding began well, however after obtaining cover the horse did not travel strongly and proved disappointing.  Stewards noted the explanation.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Trainer L. Hatch advised Stewards that he would monitor the gelding’s recovery and notify stewards if any abnormalities are detected in the coming days.
 
STORMY GREY – Apprentice R. Ride was reprimanded for using the whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100M. 
 
Race 3: BLOOMING GORGEOUS RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H’CAP – 1650M
 
WINNER WIMMER – Steadied from heels near the 100M.
 
BENICO’S PRINCE – Had to be steadied from heels approaching the 800M.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHARLES THE THIRD – Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
IBELIEVEICANFLY – When questioned regarding the performance, Trainer P. Sexton advised that the instructions were to be in a forward position and allow the mare to travel comfortably, however he felt the mare’s performance was disappointing and that she had come to the end of her preparation.  Trainer Sexton also advised that it is his intention to send the horse for a spell.
 
GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn, and had to be steadied from heels of a tiring runner. 
 
RHIATENN ROAD – Raced very ungenerously with its head in the air for a short distance near the 1000M and shifted out.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Following this event Apprentice M. Schrapel was examined by the on course Ambulance Officers and stood down from his remaining rides.  Replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.  Apprentice Schrapel was advised that he will need a medical clearance and required to pass a concussion test prior to riding again.
 
Race 4: HIT FM CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1310M
 
As Bradley Appo was to be overweight, B. Stower was substituted as rider of EXCITEMENT LEVELS.  Bradley Appo was fined $200.
 
AD FINEM – Slow to begin.  Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE BARRACUDA – Disappointed for clear running in the home straight.  Steadied from heels and shifted wider leaving the 100M.
 
AKUA – Raced wide throughout.
 
LATCHY’S GIRL - Laid out under pressure in the home straight.  Apprentice Nothdurft was reprimanded for not making sufficient effort to straighten his mount which was shifting out over the concluding stages.
 
HE’S ALL HEART – Tightened for room at the start.  Had to be steadied from heels and shifted wider on the track approaching the 800M.
 
Race 5: HANNAS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1210M
 
APOLOBOOM – Began awkwardly and was tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
TEEROYS TRIBUTE – Raced keenly for a short distance passing the 800M.
 
GRAND CHEVAL – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 6: NUTURF MAIDEN H’CAP – 1210M
 
HOWNOWBROWNCOW – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
OCCHILUPO – Raced wide throughout.  Raced ungenerously from the 800M to the 600M.
 
SUMMERILL – Bumped heavily by another runner nearing the 1100M.  Raced ungenerously from the 800M to the 600M.
 
I AM HERCULES – Bumped heavily by another runner nearing the 1100M.  Hung out approaching the 800M.  Clipped heels and blundered when racing keenly near the 700M.  Raced ungenerously from the 800M to the 600M.  Held up for clear running and raced ungenerously when being restrained near the 400M.  Steadied from heels near the 150M when taken in by HIDE THE CANDY.  Apprentice Spinks, the rider of HIDE THE CANDY, was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
 
MISS GEORGIANA – Tightened for room at the start.  Steadied leaving the 800M when MAGEQUILL shifted in when insufficiently clear.  Jockey Beau Appo, the rider of MAGEQUILL, was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
 
SHADOW EMPIRE – Steadied from heels and raced ungenerously from the 800M to the 600M.
 
HIDE THE CANDY – As Apprentice M. Schrapel was injured during his ride in Race 3, Apprentice A. Spinks was substituted as rider.  Began awkwardly and raced ungenerously for a short distance.  Laid in and raced ungenerously approaching the 800M.  Laid in under pressure and raced greenly in the home straight.  On returning to scale, Apprentice Spinks weighed in in excess of 0.5kg over his allotted weight.  Apprentice Spinks was fined $200.
 
Race 7: BRISBANE RIVERVIEW HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE – 2000M
 
BAY DREAMER – Bumped approaching the 400M.
 
CANTERBURY KING – Forced wider rounding the home turn.
 
LASER SIGHT – Jockey M. Hellyer was fined $200 for using the whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100M.
 
SOAR WITH THE EAGLES – Trainer P. Facoory was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SPECIAL MAN – Hung in approaching the 400M.
 
SUNCANSING – Began very awkwardly.  Bumped approaching the 400M.
 
ROMAN SENATOR – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
TRUSTED MAGIC – Began awkwardly.  Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 400M.
 
HEART OF A REBEL – Buffeted between runners at the start.  Blundered badly at the 1200M causing jockey N. Tomizawa to lose the use of the near side iron placing him at a disadvantage until approaching the 800M.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
LITTLE MISS MONACO – Stood flat-footed and lost ground.  A warning was placed on the horse’s manners.
 
RHYTHM AND BELLS - As Apprentice M. Schrapel was injured during his ride in Race 3, Apprentice H. English was substituted as rider.
