Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to consider a protest lodges by Jockey M Wishart, rider of 3rd placegetter AQUATIER against 2nd placegetter MISHANI CROWN (App S Willis). After taking evidence from the riders and relevant connections and viewing the race footage Stewards determined that whilst MISHANI CROWN had shifted out under riding, bumped AQUATIER and taken that runner wider passing the 100m, bearing in mind the severity of interference, the beaten margin and the manner in which both runners finished off the event Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied to the requisite standard that had the interference not occurred that AQUATIER would have finished ahead of MISHANI CROWN and as such dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judges semaphored numbers.

Stewards also noted YES I’M UGLY had been inclined to lay in leading up to the incident however identified no inward shift immediately prior to or during the incident but acknowledged that the geldings racing manners may have exacerbated to interference incurred to a minor extent.
