Proved difficult to load, delaying the start. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s manners. Raced three wide with cover. Rider Andrew Spinks reported that his mount failed to muster speed from the wide gate and failed to respond to his riding from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination determined that the mare had dislodged its synthetic hoof filler which may have had a bearing on the performance. Jockey Spinks also reported that the mare may not have appreciated the firmer surface today.
