When questioned, P. Hammersley stated that when the tempo of the race quickened near the 600m, his mount was flat-footed, which he attributed to the 61kg weight impost. He further stated that in his opinion SIR MOMENTS did make some ground in the straight and he was not entirely disappointed with the horse’s effort.
