Overraced in the early stages. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages of the race, jockey M. Cahill explained that he was instructed to ride back in the field from the wide barrier and rather than being forced to cover additional ground to the outside of DANGER ANNIE, he elected to restrain behind that runner approaching the first turn. He added that he improved into the race approaching the 600m and made the decision to shift wider in the home straight and, in his opinion, the filly closed the race off well. Stewards noted the explanation.
