When questioned regarding his tactics, apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester stated that over a longer distance the gelding had been ridden forward and he was instructed to have the gelding in a similar position today, however in hindsight he agreed that he should have steadied near the 1000m instead of waiting until the 800m.

When questioned regarding her tactics, T. Harrison stated that with the gear change today of blinkers off/winkers on, the gelding overraced and when she attempted to restrain approaching the 800m, was inclined to hang out and was beaten well before the home turn.
