Rider questioned re riding early stages - stated instructed to race handy and gelding had not begun well and after hard riding was unable to clear runners to inside and elected to continue to ride forward to obtain a position closer to lead. After passing 1000m attempted to restrain take up a position behind MISS MIAO but was prevented from doing so. Added amount of work done in early and middle stages contributed to weakening in home straight.
