When asked to explain the improved performance today, trainer K. Kemp explained that at its last start the gelding overraced and the rider elected to shift wider on the track, which may have exposed the gelding earlier than he would have liked, which may have had a detrimental effect on the gelding’s finishing effort. He added that with the fast tempo today the horse travelled in a comfortable position without being exposed too early, which was consistent with its runs prior to its last start in which it perform creditably.

Overraced and hung in throughout, and at a point passing the 200m J. Lloyd had some difficulty shifting his mount out to secure clear running. The horse then continued to hang in and over the final stages jockey Lloyd had some difficulty riding his mount out.
