When questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly improved performance, connections advised that at its previous start at Texas the mare did not appreciate the firm track on that occasion and had jarred up. They added that the mare was suited by today’s bigger track and the step up in distance and that a forward showing was expected. They further added that the horse will now be sent for a spell. The veterinary surgeon reported that the mare was showing signs of soreness in its near fore foot post-race.
