Trainer questioned re improved performance - advised at previous start not his intention to have gelding race in a rearward position however, after being hampered at the start raced further back than anticipated. Further added with step up in distance for today and to be more positive and settle in a forward position may have contributed to improved performance. Stewards noted explanation.
