– When queried regarding tactics adopted, rider R Maloney stated the gelding settled comfortably in a forward position as per instructions. He added he attempted to improve to the inside of MOSSHIKI near the 600 metres, however failed to respond as expected and was forced back into a trailing position. R Maloney further added COASTAL PRINCE travelled fairly approaching the home turn and then became held up for a short distance at the entrance to the home straight and proved disappointing in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
