When asked to comment on tactics adopted from the 500 metres rider A Mallyon explained when the pace quickened from the 600 metres MORETHANNUMBERONE was travelling only fairly and he was reluctant to come wider on the track as in his opinion the horse is better suited to racing on bigger tracks. A Mallyon added he was disappointed today with the overall performance and that MORETHANNUMBERONE is better suited to races over a shorter distance than today’s 1600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards noted the explanation.
