Apprentice C. Schmidt was questioned regarding the tactics she adopted after leaving the 1000m whereby the pace steadied. She stated that it was no her intention to lead or to reduce the pace, however the mare relaxed more than she had expected and and as a result horses which were racing directly behind her had to be steadied. Ms Schmidt was advised to be mindful of the consequences of steadying the pace when in a leading position. Lost the near hind plate in running.
